Mullers decided not to lower his demands or, at least, not accepted a cut. If this is repeated all through league Two clubs and players hang on and on for the best deal, it could be a long, hard summer for JC

Mullers still has a year of his contract to run so he does not need to lower his demands or accept a cut. I am talking about all the players that do not have a job.

Please tell me what our budget was and what the other 23 clubs budgets were to show me that we had the smallest budget in the league. Please tell me what our new budget is and what the conference clubs budgets are to show me that we are running a conference budget. Please tell me where you get your information from.

Back of LET some time ago

Wage budget will be cut by 25%
Stanley's annual wage bill of £900,000 for the 08/09 season will now be £675,000 for 09/10 season
thats a big chunck of the wage bill.

Accrington Stanley confident over wage revamp (From Lancashire Telegraph)

quote "Stanley are thought to have the lowest budget in the Football League"

If £900k was just the playing budget, which I doubt, then it won't have been the lowest in the league last season.
If £625k is just going to be the playing budget, which I doubt, then it won't be the lowest in the league this coming season.

Re: Glynn Hurst

having read in the press and watched on the television both eric and john repeatedly say we are running the smallest budget in the league with our small crowds is where i base my assumption on. i also know cambridge amongst others ran budgets equal to and greater than our league budget last year in the conference, which is where i base my 2nd assumption that we are running a conference budjet.

I didn't realise you were basing it all on assumptions. I thought you were basing it on FACT.

Re: Glynn Hurst

to be fair "cambridge amongst others" have bigger crowds than we do.... boring it may be but spending money you dont have turns you into chester darlington southampton ect ect etc. until we get 4 0r 5,000 every week we are always going to be up against it but i for one would rather have a solvent (ish) club struggling than a bankrupt club with passed glories.
it is not beyond possibility that southampton may start next season in the conference..... there but for erics long pockets and short arms.......

Re: Glynn Hurst

Hursty is a quality striker and one who will give 100% every time he plays he actually took a pay cut at the beginning of the season to stay at gigg but apparently he left because he wouldn't sign a new contract at gigg unless he was going to play a lot more but unfortunately knilly couldn't give him that so he was released!

Hursty would be a very good League two signing and i certainly wouldn't look forward to playing stanley as he always seems to score against his former clubs!
