Re: Goalkeepers
No one has mentioned Andy Dibble.
Are recent goals against a sign that we are missing him?

Re: Stanley v MK Dons, goals from the championship.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks REDASH...Sorry to rake the mud,but couldn't help but notice another poor effort by DUNBAVIN when clearing the ball as Williams chopped down the Dons player. All the time, all the space in the world and he returns it straight back at the fallen Dons bloke .It could've richoched(sp) into goal or to another opposition player.I have to wonder about this fella when I read about and see his kicking game.Surely its time for a change?

Re: Goalkeepers
I have to agree with Tin Monkey. I thought Bavs was seriously at fault for at least two of the goals yesterday - and it's not the first time! I admire the lad's shotstopping, but his basic problem is that he just isn't big enough to command his area, which is probably why he's never made it before. Shrewsbury found out, Scarborough found out, maybe Halifax did too, which might have made them that bit keener to open the door for his disciplinary exit.I know he's scouse, which counts for a lot at the FES, but isn't it time our management team found out too ?

Re: Goalkeepers
In my opinion Coleman has lost the plot when it comes to this matter. How many more errors and dropped points will we have to suffer before he gets dropped. Won't belong before Charlton realize he will be much better of sitting on their own bench and then thats another genuine quality player lost. This has beome almost farcical now.

Re: Goalkeepers
I'm afraid Coley has "form" as far as stubbornly playing the wrong keeper is concerned. We all remember PC, don't we?

Re: Goalkeepers
I suppose Dunbavin is "ours", and Robbie is on loan, and we'll never be able to afford him. That must influence Coley's decision.
Dunbavin has played blinders in loads of games this season, BUT........
Strongly believe we need a goalkeeping coach, but, more than that, the back five need to work as a unit. It's as much about communication as technique, but both need working on.
As for kicking, they're both in the Jamie tradition .

Re: Goalkeepers
so has everyone started blaming it on coley now just because of a couple mistakes, what did you think accrington was going to do coming from the conference to the football league , did you all think they where going to be top of the league or something becuase it sounds it. all becuase of a couple mistakes people point the finger! OO its bavs fault , oooo its coleys fault ! Cumon respect what we have at accrington becuause i know that they are playing great football sometimes and to score 3 with injures and key men gone is not bad! so come on people lighten up a little! You can point fingers at the end of the season. in the next game elliot does rubbish and lets in 5 easy goals what you going to do then blame it that he put elliot in! Stop complaining becuase of a couple mistakes!

Re: Goalkeepers
Are you calling wor lass a whore?
Oh no, hang on. I missed the point of your post. A bit like you missed the point of a fans' forum and this thread in particular.

of course i was. it might look if it was bavs fault but the indecision of the defence put him in two minds of what to do it would get to anybody even if he blocked the shots there was no defender to clear it........

Have you been to any of the recent matches - Jeez - Coley has seriously lost the plot, not just on goalkeepers, but outfielders as well. What was the idea of taking of Phil Edwards (injured I accept) and replacing with Andy Mangan and thereby putting our best attacking wide player in defence? Then Taking off McGovern, who IMHO had a decent game and could beat attackers and put on Danny Ventre, it just does not add up whichever way you look at it. Andy Mangan is quick, I will grant you, but he wasn't beating too many players unlike both Toddy and McGivern and Jacobson. Yes he scored a good goal, but his work ethics have been found out and he is not cutting the mustard yet. We were lucky against Shrewsbury to get a point, we played well in parts, but having scored 3 goals against a team who were in 5th place, let in 4 - no we need help and fast or else its back to the Conference

Re: Goalkeepers
There may also be a change of goalkeepers with Rob Elliot looking set to get the nod for his first league start this season over Ian Dunbavin.
"It is a possibility," said Bell.

Re: Goalkeepers
I will reserve judgement until I see U-tube and how those goals were scored.Surely Elliot gosen't give up the ball as easily as Bavs did/dose?
