Re: Good ideas for the club

Anybody else intrigued by Rob Heys' comment in the programme yesterday? "...and the development behind the terrace at the Coppice End that will see our stadium transformed, making the Crown Ground look like a true home for a Football League club and show that we are serious about staying here."

What's that all about, then? Are they going to put a roof over the Coppice End and make it the home end?

Re: Good ideas for the club

It was mentioned at the last fans forum, but probably got lost in amongst the launch of the SOS.

Stanley ground plans to go ahead (From Lancashire Telegraph)

Yeah, it was all part of the funded project that was announced back in June/July time. We haven't heard much about it due to the SOS stuff.

Yes WH, that is the plan and I for one think it a good one, let the away fans sit down behind the goals

Re: Good ideas for the club

Think the main Priority now is get the PFA loan repaid, lifting the embargo, from what i have have seen, this side (with couple additions) is good enough to reach a play off position this season. the importance of it being lifted could not have been more ably displayed yesterday when Dunbavin was hurt, no disrespect to the kids, but a "Keeper" replacement is vital.

Re: Good ideas for the club

I'd be quite happy to stand in the Coppice End now, roof or no roof. It never did me any harm before promotion to the League. I ended up standing in the rain at the corner of the Whinney Hill side yesterday anyway, it just got too clostrophobic in the Clayton End with nobody wanting to sit and everybody squeezed up at the back. It would make far more sense to charge away fans what we charge now and site them in the Clayton End. Just a thought

Re: Good ideas for the club

The positive side of this is that facilities will improve, hopefully with office space it will increase day to day revenue, bring people into the contact with the Club who maybe would not normally have contact, improve sponsorship opportunities with better facilities that I would hope include kitchen for on site catering, this may also bring the BTHL back into normal play for fans with more floor space then available.

Down side if it is one the players would come out amongst away fans

Re: Good ideas for the club

A portable cabin bookies at the ground would be ideal, save walking into town to use corals or walking the other way to the independent bookie with awful odds.

As mentioned in the match thread from yesterday's clash with Salisbury City, it would be very nice to have access to game commentary over the internet.
