Re: Grimsby v Accrington Stanley
Can't understand why Phil Edwards didn't get a start. Perhaps being born in Kirkby doesn't qualify him as a scouser in Coleman's eyes.

Thanks for that, Radio Lancs hardly get the flavour, and they're off elswhere when things happen, unfortunately the 2nd goal.
Nice to see Jim Harvey get a point at Morecambe though.

I'm old enough to remember when Kirkby was just fields, but Coley isn't.
Just don't get it .

Re: Grimsby v Accrington Stanley
It was a bit like the Mansfield Away league game.
With Bav's heroics we could have come away with a 2-2 with more second half composure in front of their goal.
Until last month my parents lived just south of Ormskirk and Kirkby was classed as Liverpool.

Re: Grimsby v Accrington Stanley
For the record Kirkby is Liverpool and it's were Coley's from himself!
Leam should have played he's 5the type of player you'd want in the trenches with you.
Rocky's been playing really well at centre half recently and I thought we should've used Phil's pace at right back.
Thank god for Bavo.

Kirkby and Huyton are where all the scallies come from.

Re: Grimsby v Accrington Stanley
What can I say about that match? Well considering we started with 6 newcomers, it was nice to see the senior squad members going round and wishing each of them good luck. From a personal point of view, i don't think Dugdale is quite right yet, he seemed to lose his marker too often and was then chasing back. Mannix and McGivern both showed nice touches, as did Whalley and Jacobson. Thought there first goal was clearly offside as the nearest defender player was off the field and even Bav's was in front of the foremost Grimsby player, yet we try the same trick at the other end and get flagged offside. I agree with others on here, lets start with Richardson and Edwards at the back not leave them on the bench. Thought there was a lot of nice touches throughout the game and Grimsby, to be fair, were unlucky not to score more, only desperate defending kept them out!!!. But what was clear all thoughout the game was, we NEED URGENTLY new goalscorers, Toddy was his usual self, but Mangan was guilty of wasting a glorious chance to pass the ball when he got greedy from 20 yards and blasted high and wide, whereas if he had slid a ball through to Toddy, it was a certain goal and by gum, Toddy let him know it as well. Maybe with a couple more training sessions things will gel prior to the Shrewsbury game. CART ON Stanley - onwards and upwards.

Re: Grimsby v Accrington Stanley
Not much I can say about the match that hasn't been said. I must say the stewards were very friendly, though - especially the one who politely informed me that if I asked at the turnstiles, I could get a discount as an OAP. I know the last few weeks of Stanley-watching have aged me, but I'm only 55!
