Rubbish! Rob Heys says the residents are happy. So that's all right then, never mind the planning dept.!

Re: Ground Capacity
Sorry, can't get the link to work for the above but basically Peter Britcliffe has said the club 'deserve to be shown the red card' for starting the work without receiving planning permission.
Rob Heys has replied 'We were subject to time restraints before the start of the season & before Christmas contacted residents. No-one objected afer our letter was sent out.
Council officers have visited & they are happy for us to carry on, we have a much better relationship with the Council these days'

PB never misses an opportunity to endear himself to the public of Accrington does he
Maybe a council employee has actually done something behind his back, if so he should be named and come forward for the peoples award.
The club is in the wrong but lets face it retrospective planning permission is the 'in' thing these days

Re: Ground Capacity
The last paragraph in the Telegraph article sums the club up :
'Reds Managing Director Dave O'Neil was away on business yesterday but believed that Lancashire County Council had approved the plan in principle'

The point AM was trying to make is that Hyndburn council not Lancashire are responsible for the planning app

Re: Ground Capacity
I feel sorry for those at the club who are trying their best to improve things. They appear to be led by those whose incompetence and/or ignorance undermine all the good work.
I know the planning and tax systems can be bewildering and a pain but we all know they exist and have to be complied with. If those 'in charge' - if indeed anyone is in charge - can't get a grip of the basics it's no wonder the club seems to be always on the edge of infringing some rule or t'other.
I think the Borough Council is being very lenient by letting the work go ahead.

Re: Ground Capacity
If Peter Britcliffe's comments are reported correctly them I'm amazed. Surely a council leader who's fortunate enough to have an asset such as Accrington Stanley on his patch should be working with the club to ensure that legislation is complied with and trying to make life easier for everyone, not slagging them off in the local paper.

I don't think he needs to read anything anywhere to be what he is.
Fairly certain he is a season ticket holder at Deadwood, he doesn't give 2 hoots about Stanley

Re: Ground Capacity
Give Peter Britcliffe, a couple of tickets and some pies, and he'll be our best friend.

Re: Ground Capacity
Maybe if you look back at this thread, post 3, somebody else could take over legal duties regarding the ground
