Re: Hartlepool away (match thread) - Let's make Jeff Stelling cry
Deserved something today on our 2nd half performance. We looked a different team when we went to 442 with Gray and big fella up front together.
Agree ref made some dodgy decisions near the end. Blatant penalty and denied a corner which their left back headed out when we were really pressing last 5 mins

That was the second handball Frank, which the clown missed, but if he missed that how the hell we never got a corner wi a blatant deflection instead is beyond me.

Absolutely not ......... We give him 15/16 more games. If we're still in a fight, THEN we give him our full support ..... He's doing an astonishing job of putting us in a good place. We don't "slag him off" .....
And we don't boo our own players

Way i see it, we are building at the moment, so next season Stanley will have a side that can hit the ground running (2 yr contracts)will aid that, instead of the usual start from scratch, we have some good young lads that should only improve wi experience. Keep The Faith.

Re: Hartlepool away (match thread) - Let's make Jeff Stelling cry
Today was not a good day. However we have to move on and keep the faith. Its a team of youngsters with very little experience who can hopefully learn from their mistakes and try to take positives from the first few games. The league wont take shape till mid october time and lets face it we all knew this season like every other season would be about maintaining football league status so if we can try to start picking a few points we can kick on away from 23rd place. Lets start this v Rochdale were we should all give the lads 100 percent support and lead the lads to our first win. Lets not get away from what us stanley supporters are which is vocal proud and loud. Come on you stanley!
P.S a performance like last Februarys at spotland wouldnt be too bad

Wrong.
10 games is ample time for any new manager to demonstrate their ability in the transfer market, tactical ability, etc.
It has not been 10 league games yet so I will not comment.
Being blind to the facts helps no one; its the same mentality of some of the contributors on this forum who where happy for us to go back in the non league as Leam Richardson was God and we dare not criticise him.
The only thing I will say, is we must learn from Barnet.
While they had Mark Robson in charge last year, they won only 5 out of 27 games.
By the time he had left in late December it was to late.
Under Edgar Davids, their form and average points from late December onwards would have seen them finish 5th.
10 league games (not to mention the JPT and carling cup games) is enough time to make a judgement on a manager; especially a manager with no previous experience.
And please, don't come out with the 'rub of the green' rubbish.
You make your own luck in football, its called tactics and ability.
The referee is not the reason we lost yesterday and neither was luck.
Hartlepool where better on the day, its as simple as that.

Don't think anybody can logically argue with that statement.

Ten games is enough time to crystallise thoughts on where we are
As fans everyone sees things slightly differently and everyone is entitled to an opinion.

I would usually agree with the above ,but consideration must be given to our injury list, not only mostly senior players but causing so many playing out of position.James Beattie is laying a strong foundations for the future and is going to succeed #passionovercomeslogic.

Quite right. The other worrying comparison with Barnet last year is that apart from an odd game or two [Morecambe away and a couple of others], they only lost by the odd goal in most of their defeats.
It's ok to keep saying that we're unlucky all the time, but often we could or should have been 3 or more goals down by half-time.
It's crying out for someone in midfield to drive the play forwards. We've always been better playing in the opposition's half than in our own.
The job at Stanley is always going to be a tough, tough call. The club made its choice and now it'll have to stand by that decision. Personally [and I think that I was only one of two people at the time to say it on here], I don't believe that the best choice was made for the club.
