Thumbs down Health and Safety Issues

Just a quick gripe. Yesterday at the Woking game, and at previous games, I have had bottle tops removed from plastic bottles (which is the case at all grounds for safety reasons). However, imagine my horror to discover that cans of pop had been brought onto the ground (by persons working for ASFC) and worse still, a steward had a 2 or 3 litre bottle of pop in a carrier bag.
Its all very well informing the catering crews, who IMO do a decent job, the rules of the Football Association, but surely, the ground stewards should also be informed for future reference. I can imagine supporters who have cans etc removed from their person seeing something like that, there will be uproar and rightly so.
P.S. I did point out the error of the stewards ways to Senior Stewards.

Re: Health and Safety Issues

Stewards are there as stewards and not as fans therefore dont come under the same rules. I dont know exactly why your not allowed to have tops on your bottles but whatever the reason I am guessing this doesn't apply to stewards.

Just my thoughts

Re: Health and Safety Issues

the reason is kipax is that people can refill the bottles with urine and put the bottle top on then use it as a missile

but if there isnt a top on by the time its reached the person who it being thrown at there will be nothing in the bottle

weird i no but .............

Re: Health and Safety Issues

Then my point is validated. Surely this does not apply to stewards.

Being a veteran of many Donnington Rock Festivals, I can assure you that a bottle of urine isn't empty by the time it hits you on the head, so the bottle top issue seems a bit daft.

Added to that, Morecambe didn't remove the tops either.

Re: Health and Safety Issues

You are not given bottle tops for safety reasons, yet what is to stop you throwing coins, which must people will have or taking your own bottle tops in and i know one or two take their own bottles in and nothing is done to stop this.

Re: Health and Safety Issues

but you may not want to drink it all at once and putting a top on not only prevents it going flat it also stops nasty things from falling into it. Wasps being a good example. We caught half a dozen wasps in a coke bottle one day recently.

Re: Health and Safety Issues

Not only can you use coins etc to caiuse injury, but at some grounds allow you to keep the tops if the bottles. Whilst i admit that if you buy it you are going to want it, but i like to have it to drink throughout the game aand i don't like flat pop.
