That was my second thought after the first one which was - why don't they build if they've got permission and funds?

Re: Here goes again!
It may be that if we don't stay up, and we haven't built the room that we may have to hand the cash back as we won't need it. After all we are well known for cocking things up at Stanley now.

No one 'declined to comment' in respect of this article - we were never asked to comment.
Before people get carried away, the article is inaccurate - the club is yet to receive any grant funding.

Re: Here goes again!
If only we'd have sold 2 players to higher league clubs earlier in the season, then we'd have some spare cash....
Back to the abacus, eh chaps.

The council will not compromise with Whalley until he pays what is owed, believe me the council have bent over backwards to help Stanley but Whalley is the problem.
Felix you know the money is available so cut the crap.

Re: Here goes again!
According to the LET, council leader Britcliffe has urged the planning committee to grant Stanley permission to use the temporary control room for another year. Local councillor Malcolm Pritchard has condemned him for this and said that local residents shouldn't have to put up with the portakabin any longer.

Re: Here goes again!
I can't see the difference to the residents whether it's a temporary structure or a permanent one, ok it might be a bit prettier but would probably be in the same place it is now. I'm getting a bit fed up with hearing of what the residents shouldn't have to put up with, as has been said before most moved in when the club was already there and as also has been said, I'd swap my house with any one of em

Re: Here goes again!
According to the LET, the council have allowed Stanley to keep the temporary structure for another year. Council Pritchard called the structure a "monstrosity". Get a grip, man - it's only a portakabin, not a nuclear power plant!

Because if we're relegated we won't need it. Why spend money if it's not necessary?

The tight git won't spend money when it is necessary.

Re: Here goes again!
Money is tight, we all know that. Nobody has been more vocal about these issues than me this season, but when things are as tight as they are right now, what's the point of spending?
I don't blame the residents for complaining. The temporary building is horrendous. However, if we don't need it next season it'll come down anyway.

If we don't spend the money and get relegated, we'll still need it for when we get promoted again.

I believe that we haven't received any grant money.
