Highs And Lows Of This Season

In your opinion , what have been your highs and lows of this season?

Highs for me:
Jimmy Ryan - a superb signing by the football genious! his work rate is immense and the goals he has scored this season have been even better!

The football we have played - the football this season has been of a higher quality this season and most people will agree. We have passed it more on the floor instead of hoof balls towards Mullin and other players and the football played has been entertaining to watch!

Going to spain to watch the reds was always going to be a great experience and one i will remember!

Beating teams like Luton and Port Vale at their ground!

Playing Tranmere away in the JPT and live on setanta

The Morcambe away trip!

Lows:
Having to see our terrace now with seats!

The departure of Paul Mullin leaving

The betting scandal!

All in all , this has been a great season once and again! Staying up on the resources and money we have is amazing and another succesful season once again!

Re: Highs And Lows Of This Season

High - the style of football played without doubt. Lows- seating which in fairness was forced medicine, the clubs handling of the betting scandal, failure to engage in discussion with Mr Khan.

Highs

Jimmy Ryan - What a find! Great work by Coley and Jimmy to bring out the best in him and also signing a two year deal. Goals/work rate brillaint!
Chris Turner - Coming through the apprenticeship scheme after getting realeased from Burnley! Great player everytime he has the ball you know something good is going to come from it, someone we needed on the wing! Really bright furture ahead of him! glad he signed new deal
The crucial win at Macclesfield, which started a revival that brought 14 points from six games.
John and Jimmy signing a new contract after 10 years of continues success.
Finshing higher than last year.
John Miles - When he wants to and in the mood he can change games, runs at defences can score some good goals.
The football being played by Stanley this season has been very very good! Just like watching Brazil.
Phil Edwards - As ever consistent as he is always! Best defender we have, Crucial part of the defence, Hardly ever messes up! Would be lost without him thats why i hope he will sign new contract.
Seeing the Bury Fans realise that they had not won auto promotion after running on the pitch when they scored the penalty.

Lows
Losing to bradford after being 2-0 up
Seats in clayton end, nothing could of been really done about that
Losing Mullin but i think a positive can come out of that, we have showed we can still play good football and win.
Betting scandal

Highs: Surviving and actually competing in the Football League against great odds.

Thinking of that seems to overshadow many of the lows, even Mullin's departure which I was truly gutted about.

Our successful run in March and the standard of football played during that time was the stuff of dreams for this Stanley fan. I really don't wish for that to be seen as hyperbolic nonsense, because in the context of everything it really was a magical time.

Highs

The Bull's Head, Burslem - Guv'nor Ale (5% ABV) and a free burger with your first pint!

Willy's Bar, Cleethorpes - Foaming pints of Willy's homebrewed ale served by comely wenches.

The Cemetery, Rochdale - A cracking pint (can't remember who's) and Wynonie Harris on the jukebox.

The Banker's Draft, Sheffield city centre - A couple of excellent pints of Marston's Pedigree while enjoying a post-Rotherham chinwag with Phil Whalley.

Low

The first pub I went into near the Don Valley stadium - scruffy, loud electronic music and, worst of all, indifferent ale! (To be fair, the second pub I went into where I bumped into Redash and co, was much better).

Anticipated High Next Season
The British Lion, Crewe - CAMRA listed...bring it on!

Highs

MCR ADIM's eternal optimism.

The general standard of play has shown a vast improvement over last season.

We're playing league football for another season.

Lows

The club's continued use of the mushroom system.

The lack of a goalscorer.

The Scouse betting ring.

Re: Highs And Lows Of This Season

HIGHS
Every game I was able to watch, especially the Wolves game.
Improvement in standard of football played in the latter part of the season.
Good team performances against some of the highly-rated teams in League Two.
Some excellent individual performances, especially by Kenny Arthur, Phil Edwards, John Miles and Jimmy Ryan.
The club's bold move with season ticket prices.

LOWS
Generally poor standard of referees and their assistants.
Betting scandal.
The club's handling of the betting scandal.
The club's seeming reluctance to associate itself more closely with its fan base.
Failure to maintain up-to-date website.
