Historical Strips

I don't know if anyone has posted this link before, but is quite interesting and Kipax gets a mention.

Yes ,cheers, LS, that's a fascinating site. The part in our club history where he comments on the directors bringing Bob Lord in when the club was in desperate straits in 1962 is right on the money. "This was rather like entrusting a flock of sheep to your local wolf pack." Too true!

Re: Historical Strips

Aren't there a few missing from the 90s? The EW Cartons one (after Asda and before Bridge). The first Hollands one with a collar with yellow trim and that awful pinky pigeon **** splattered one - can't remember the sponsor - and until now had manged to banish it completely from my memory.

The blue shorts are taken from my site at accringtonstanley.has.it but I'm having second thoughts about that. I think they may have been grey.

was the EW Cartons one not just a makeweight because we started the season with no sponsor?

My favourite was the '94-'95 Hollands Pie one but it was the dark blue away shirt that was the best.

Re: Historical Strips

My favourite has always been the 94-95 strip, red with red and white sleeves, I always wanted that shirt but never got it, the away one was lovely same design but with royal blue instead of the red. I've never seen a stanley shirt look as good on as that one.

Re: Historical Strips

I still have the 90-94 shirt at home and i occaisionally still wear it, its not in the best of conditions any more but it was the first stanley shirt i ever owned so i want to keep it.

Anybody remember the special red and white harlequin rugby shirt? I still have that somewhere as well.
