Question How Many?

Hello All,

With it being your first game back I was just wondering how many approx you are bringing to the Deva Stadium?

We're expecting a large crowd and obviously a huge press presence due to it being your first game, which is good for both us and you. Personally Im glad your back in the football league and wish you all the best of luck throughout the season (apart from tomorrow, sorry!). And hope you show why you was promoted.

Oh and a word of advise for those travelling by train, if you didn't know, the ground is a long walk approx 3 miles!

Re: How Many?

We dont have a massive following away and tomorrow is hard to judge. I would consider anything over 200 a bonus we didnt take more than a dozen or so to each pre season game so that doesn't bode well either.

Re: How Many?

Just come back from Chester about an hr ago, nice to be there 1st match of the league season & my 1st away game. I was so surprised just how many Accy supporters were there we easily filled majority of our end, good one ultras great passion outsinging their bloody drum by they way as i was in front of what seems like Mangans relatives they aren't to impressed with the Mangan song they think it could be improved being very polite about it - dont shoot the messenger i didnt get chance to point them in direction of Accyweb

Shame it was a defeat but least the lads have their 1st nerves match out of the way & im sure they will get used to the tempo of the league much better - great effort tho

Chester has a nice City & ground - very welcoming

Re: How Many?

Thanks, people usually say the grounds rubbish! Glad we won for obvious reasons but hope that you go on to have a great season now.

Most Chester fans was dispointed with your travelling numbers as we expected at least 1300, but never mind.

Anyway good luck and see you at accy away fixture!

At least 1300!? I think some people need to up their doses of medication

Would've loved to have seen that many, but to be fair, 830 ranks up there with our best away attendances, so I'm happy.

Can't think of many games that we have taken that many to.

Morecambe away on Boxing day three years ago?

Bournemouth? (500 officially but I think Eric was manning that turnstile)

Halifax 1st time?

haha, 830 might have been a fair few to you lot, as even though we have a smallfan base ourselves, and without blowing our own trumpet, we tend to take alot away. For local games such as Bury, Stockport, Macc Town etc we take at least 1000 which aint too bad. But if 800+ is good for you then fair enough.

Re: How Many?

you come from a higher league mentality though. You have been a league team for years except the brief holiday to the Conference. Bigger games and bigger gates breed that kind of mentality where people will travel in numbers.

834 is quite possibly our highest official away following and for our first league game that augers well for the rest of the season providing we can get some results under our belts.

Roll on tuesday night and our highest ever league gate.

As this will be your last visit to our message board until we play you again if you're going to have a pop and be sarcastic don't bother coming back.
