Huddersfield Players becoming available

Their new manager:

"There are other players, both out (of) and under contract come the summer, that I have spoken to who will be looking for pastures new."

Re: Huddersfield Players becoming available

Certainly think David Unsworth could do a job for us. Saw him when he played for Wigan Athletic on a couple of occasions and seemed to do a decent job. Still only 34 so we could in theory get a couple of seasons out of him. Also ex-everton so the scouse connection would work for the management team.

Not sure about Unsworth past his penalty taking abilities, but I would welcome Lucketti's signature.

edit - just seen that he's 37. Perhaps on a pay as you play deal then!

Re: Huddersfield Players becoming available

Unsworth was good enough to be offered another contract at Burnley for this season but turned it down because he wanted a player/coach role. Not sure how much he has played this season but I would put him before Lucketti anyday.

Nothing to do with him being an ex lilywhite is it?
I've always liked Lucketti, haven't seen him play for a good few years though.

Very polite term for our Lancashire neighbours

I agree when he was with them he looked very good but lost his way when he went over the border.

I know for sure Craney is available, he has asked to move because he's not a guaranteed starter. Gary Roberts has also fell out with Lee Clarke.

As for Unsworth or Lucketti it's a no contest, Lucketti couldn't lace Unsworths boots although I think Unsworth has retired from the game today.

Wink Re: Huddersfield Players becoming available

rightio then it's a done deal, we'll have Ian back (then sell him again for another £100k profit ) and we'll borrow a bit off Mr K to buy Robbo (just until the Craney resale money comes through)

Robbo will have to concentrate on paying the players we already have prior to signing new one's.

I know the players having been paid again this month. They got paid in 4 payments last month, when it should of been 1 on the first day of the month and they haven't been paid this month yet, when it should of been on the 1st.

Not sure that Craney and Jimmy Ryan in midfield would be a good idea, and I'd pick Jimmy before Ian any day. Now Gary Roberts - well that's a different story!
