Re: Hyping up Rochdale
Copied this from Rossendale Transports website:
Off Peak & Weekend
(Valid after 0900hrs Mon- Fri £3.00 £10.00 £3.00 £9.00 £8.50
plus all day Sat & Sun)
When you get on the bus just ask for a day rover. The bus driver will know what you mean. Dont chuck the ticket away and use it on your way back. That way its only cost you £3.

Re: Hyping up Rochdale
cheers Shillelagh. I knew it was around that price. Need to speak to them about laying on extra buses - that way we dont get shoppers getting in our way and we dont have to keep stopping!

Re: Hyping up Rochdale
There will be a few of us coming up on the train from wolves ive read that the ground is a few miles from the station any body no if there are any decent pubs around the ground for a drink or would it be better drinking in the town and getting a taxi to the game.

Re: Hyping up Rochdale
Have spoken to Rossendale Transports Logistics guy, he was glad of the call as he didn't fancy 500 or so football fans disrupting his saturday service. He is putting together a plan and will come back to me.
Apparently it is quite a trek from the bus station to the ground so he would rather take us straight there (good), however the unmitigating factors are that no stops and going off the public transport route makes it a private hire and needs tachographs, drivers having the correct time off during the week, different prices, separate license etc.
I have explained that if the cost varies form the £3 then people will just use the 464 service and make their own way anyway so it would defeat the object. Hopefully a plan will be formulated today and I will let you know.

Re: Hyping up Rochdale
Have spoken to Rossendale Transport again, the message is that we WILL DEFINITELY be running a fleet of double deckers from Accrington Centre (prob bus station) direct to the ground. The price will be as it would be on the 464 service. The service will be numbers pending. I will be taking names and deposits at the next home match. Could anybody who wants to go this game on the buses please ensure that they seek me out in the clubhouse priior to the Stockport match and give me names and money for anybody they want to take with them. Exact details will follow as I get them.

Re: Hyping up Rochdale
yeah should be Shaker, if there is any variation it will be minimal, but would be due to the bus going all the way to the ground rather than the bus station.

Re: Hyping up Rochdale
Good work Macca.
This may go a little bit too far, but what if the bus ticket got us into the Bristol Rovers game, say £3 cheaper on the following Tuesday?
(Suppose that's up to Eric, not you, pity )
