I watched Wycombe Last Night
a few of us went along after working near Barnet, what I found was a bit of a mixed bag in terms of Wycombe Wanderers.
First of all - Barnet are not great, but what they lack in skill they make up for in pace and effort.
Stanley need to be committed and in Wycombes faces to get anything.
Wycombes best player was Gary Holt - he created alot of there chances and dictated the play.
Wycombe looked good when they passed it around, but often reverted to a long ball over the top - a tactic they utilised for large parts of the night.
Stanley will need to sit deep and win the first header, every time Barnet let the ball drop Wycombe caused them problems.
However, Wycombes defence, especially the full backs are suseptible to pace and players who can run at them. Time and time again, Barnets direct play - putting balls behind the back 4 to run on to caused Wycombe problems.
Stanley need to have a midfielder sitting in front of the back 4 to break up any short inter-change passing from Wycombe and also to get tight to Gary Holt.
At the same time, a quick striker/winger will have a field day if we sit deep and play on the counter attack.
Afterwards in the club house, a few wycombe fans said the players are feeling the pressure of being on an unbeaten run - its making them very nervous. Taking the lead on Saturday could be decisive.
We have a decent shout on Saturday.
