Re: ian craney
He is class, way to good (when the team plays a formation to suit his style - aka attacking central midfielder) for league 2, but will his wage demands be to high for us? The perfect replacement for losing bobby grant.

Re: ian craney
Dav how is he the perfect replacement for losing Bobby? They are two completely different players!!! One is a young striker/left winger, one is a 20 odd year old attacking central midfielder who is consistency wise the twin of John Miles!!!! Both offer flashes of brilliance (Bobby & Craney) but in completely different ways. Also one is a lithe, fit, jinky running, hungry footballer, the other is just plain hungry, and his arse should have its own postcode!!!
As you can probably gather from my post, I'm not Mr Craneys biggest fan!!!

You need to pay a visit to your doc's and get your medication changed. I'm with sparkie on this. Craney is/was an overweight, lazy, idle and no doubt overpaid prima donna.

Re: ian craney
Craney is class.
I take the point he can go missing in games, but that is often because teams realise his ability and man mark/pressure him on the ball.
The comparison to John Miles is a non starter - different role and style of play.
The compariosn with Bobby Grant is justified. This season, with Miles being generally off-form it has been Grant who has provided the genius.
Sadly, I expect Grant to be on his way along with Symes. Thus, Ian Craney with his creative brain and play making ability can be the inspiration who can provide the killer ball in the final 3rd and supply a fair share of long distance shots.
I know Craney didnt ignite the team a much second time round, but you must understand we where a very slow forward line with Mullin and McEvilly at the start of the season. If Craney playing behind them was snuffed out and man marked, there was no plan B other than hit it long.
With a forward line with some pace who can stretch defenders, an Ian Craney with space in behind is deadly in league 2.
I cant believe the Ian Craney doubters out there cant admit the guy has talent and lots of it. He may not aways be the hardest worker, but he does have the talent.
I will be suprised if Morecambe dont go in for him? Is he still injured?

Re: ian craney
Unfortunately, if Craney were to deliver a killer pass in the first five minutes, he would think the days work was done, and spend the rest of the afternoon, standing there in midfield admiring his genius.

Re: ian craney
I agree dav007, Turner needs to be given more of a shot to return him back to normal service think he's overlooked a lot lately for full matches.

Re: ian craney
Time to forget players coming back the only exceptions to that rule would be Brett Ormerod or Gary Roberts
I would term Craney a luxury player who can turn a game in the blink of an eye but can also as fast become a passenger and ineffective during a game.

Re: ian craney
i think the irony of the whole scenario is that the minute Craney's head were turned by his agent after the departure of Gaz Roberts it has seriously gone down hill! God bless those lovely caring agents!
