Re: Ian Craney - Gone
Always difficult with injuries within the one's who have been out of the team over the season is an awful lot of experience which if fit bring so much to the team in terms of guile and creating that extra yard of space whilst keeping a cool head and helping bring the younger players through.
We do need that it's an important mix but as Joe says if we are not in position to play them week in week out it does make it more difficult but with the addition of Les Parry we may see improvements on the injury side of things?

Re: Ian Craney - Gone
I appreciate what Craney's done at the club in the past but there's a difference between an experienced player who returns from an injury as fit and eager to play as his age permits [Hughes springs to mind as a recent example] and one who returns unfit and seemingly indifferent. The latter may be a result of the former, but either way Craney has been a big disappointment the last few times I've seen him play.
What's more galling, if true, is that he's reputed to be the highest paid player. I'd rather see Stanley's limited salary budget going to experienced player's willing to put in effort and eager younger one's with potential (Hatfield, for example).
Hope I haven't offended any of Craney's fans, but I think it's time for the club to move on.

Re: Ian Craney - Gone
Totally agree. I'll always remember him as the player in his first spell with us and that goal at Morecambe in 2004 or the player that came in last January and helped us get into the playoffs (and particularly that goal against Torquay), but he has been a pale shadow of that player this season.

Re: Ian Craney - Gone
Good servant but as others have said, time to move on for both player and the club.

Re: Ian Craney - Gone
A good player for Stanley, would we have won promotion in 2006 if not for his and Gary Roberts's efforts? Time to move on though we can't afford to carry passengers and Ian will accept that. I hope he get's a decent club i wish him well!

Grimps you just said what I was thinking, I too suspect he is off to Rochdale. He always was Coleys blue eyed favourite. However I do wish him well .
