That's right. Someone like that would come to us for £200 per week. Great idea!
Why do you think we struggle to sign players??
I do wonder at what point Coleman will resign though. If we lose against Torquay? At the end of the season, when we're relegated? I presume he will offer his resignation at some point, even if it is not accepted.
The thing is, if he does go, will it be the start of another cycle of short term managers who plug gaps, while the team slips backwards.

Re: If
I hope not. This is a man with determination. If we go down I think he’ll stay with it and make real money on the table from the club a condition for bringing us back up.

Re: If
I have a feeling he will go at the end of the season, i think he's realised he's out of this league by the sounds of it, the problem Coley has is his contacts for potential players mmmmm have u noticed a mini Liverpool LOL!!! He has no experience as a player nevermind manager of league status football.

Re: If
harsh and unnecessary......
we're in this mess because of a culmination of things, injuries and suspensions on top of losing two very influential players whuilst being hampered by their replacements breaking every muscle or bone know to treatment rooms.
Coley has made lots of mistakes this season ... the inability to bring the substitutes on at the right moment ... persevering with players who just aren't performing .... sticking with one dimensional (doesnt matter what the formation - the target is the same) football week in week out knowing full well the opposition have sussed us out. JC has to learn by these basic errors. But it is probably too late for this season.
I do not agree with other posts on other threads that call for his head. The one consistency at the Crown (even thats been inconsistent) over the years has been John and Jimmy. And that has been the cornerstone that our success has been built on. Just because a new manager comes in does not mean that things will be put right, a new manager will struggle to attract the right calibre of player because we cant afford the wages - its so simple that I can't understand the pillocks who keep ranting on about it. Maybe this season was too soon for us to regain League status, we all know that things weren't ready off the field. IF we get another shot at it then they will be. Wont they?
I think JC would be the man to lead us in another Conference campaign if that is what is going to happen.
Maybe IF we went up again then we should review what we can afford player and management wise.
John Coleman will lead us next season. Get used to it

I'm not necessarily calling for JC's head - but how long should he be given to sort out the mistakes? He does indeed have to learn from them. My worry is that it is taking so long. On a different thread, I have commented on the turnaround at Stockport where relegation loomed so large last season. Why the turnaround there? Was it a new manager? New players? New training ideas and regimes?

Wouldn't have it any other way
Let's just cart on. 9 games to go, fasten your seatbelts.

I don't know about Stockport, but the players at Macclesfield put down the big change driving their revival under Paul Ince to proper dieting! I'm amazed that Kimberley-Clark hasn't latched on to this before now - looks like he was right all along. Whatever they're feeding them seems to get them fired up - they had EIGHT players booked today!

Reasonable point, but maybe they were underachieving last season. They've been able to let players like Glenn Murray go, and get better in, they average over 5,000 per home game, it's a different ball game
I don't think Coley's limitations are purely down to Coley, he could do better, but couldn't we all.

Re: If
Listen, if Coleman leaves I am 100% sure it will be of his own accord and good luck to him.
The money he has made for this club through unearthing players has been phenomenal. Mainly scousers too might I add!!
The entire club looks out of its depth this year but rather than blame John Coleman for that I take the opposite view....it shows what a miracle he performed getting us here in the first place!!
Every time he puts a side together players get sold from under him, usually for buttons. The sale of Anthony Barry last season for example, it was an absolute joke. I understand the club virtually gave the boy away and his loss could have seriosuly undermined the promotion campaign as he had undoubtedly developed into a key player.
I think everyone needs to be realistic and accept that a club that supposedly can't afford to buy any players, let alone put a roof on a stand, is just not geared up for league football.
If JC hadn't found all the players he had through his contacts imagine where the club would be then?? Nowhere.
Accrington Stanley is very very lucky to have John Coleman IMO and if people start asking questions of him I wouldn't blame him in the slightest for walking away. I have no doubt whatsoever that he would get fixed up at another good club in no time.

Re: If
well said Stav.
It is a right point that the whole club is out of its depth. Hopefully we stay around long enough to learn to swim. But if we dont then WE ALL need to spend the summer taking stock and seeing if we could more to help, or if you are already doing can you do it better?
If the worst does happen (and I am resigned it with the FA charges) we need to regroup, recharge and then rewin the bloody non-league!
