Oldham are the current holders ( they beat Man Utd on the way to the final lol) The final was held in July carried over from last season

The thing about the BBC article is the date. August would have been used by Fergie to try his fringe players out in competitive matches. Kipax is right in that you never know what Utd team will turn out, it obviously depends on the schedules Utd have at the time, and as seen in the Preston matches if he has players coming back from injury who need match practice.

You know full well if the the senior side in the area is playing they have the commentary. We are at home to Sunderland

Apparently they will be fielding "youth team players and a couple of first teamers" and it is a 7pm kick off. Nowt on admission prices or owt.
I hasten to add that this is from a colleague who has a friend at the club, not directly from it. I am having the same "communication breakdown" with Rochdale as Kipax...
