If Anyone is travelling by Train from London to Stevenage on Sunday

If you're stopping in London or travelling thru on the way up to Stevenage and are catching the train from Kings Cross to get to the match then if you travel in groups of four you can save half the fare if you ask for a Groupsave ticket when booking (the ticket office staff won't tell you). The Groupsave ticket allows 4 people to travel for the price of 2 if they stay together as a group. A day return from London to Stevenage is £14.. Four travelling together can go for £28.

Re: If Anyone is travelling by Train from London to Stevenage on Sunday

If going by train from Accrington recommend getting train to Leeds and changing there rather than down to London first, unless of course prices are ridiculously more, but it is quicker. Also if you are changing in London thetrainline advises you to go from Euston to Finsbury Park to get a train to Stevenage. Ignore it and go from Kings Cross instead, its much quicker, and no need to get tube as Kings Cross and Euston are about a 5 min walk from each other. Hope this is useful, wish I could go, come on Stanley!!!!!!!

Could save even more by using their bus passes - might take a while though

Timetables - Area 5 - Intalink

The Map page might come in handy

last train to stevenage from Accy is via Leeds at 12:00, I think, but no way back. Game wont finish till 8:20 ish, and cant catch train before 9pm...

so its back to london, and no trains north, or head north..

can get to leeds, but no way back from leeds at midnight (first train 05:50, back in Accy 07:00)

I am in York Saturday night, and thought of catching train direct from there, but again, no way back...

Re: If Anyone is travelling by Train from London to Stevenage on Sunday

It is an overnight job if you want to head back by train (and probably expensive). You can get back by 05:50 though if you head back into Kings Cross (trains from Stevenage at 20:52 get to KX at 21:20 and at 21:04 get there at 21:32) then nip over to Euston the last train to Manchester is at 21:51 (arriving 00:53). First train out to Preston is at 04:15 arriving 05:04 with a train at 05:22 on to Accy for 05:50. Doubt anyone would bother with that unless you have some agendas along the way. Would probably set you back a few bob as well being late in the day to book (that nice Mr Branson tends to punish people who are late payers).

Re: If Anyone is travelling by Train from London to Stevenage on Sunday

We would have been very happy to travel by train , but need to return same night, even if very late . Have an agenda for Mon that I must keep. Looks like TV for us then. I know there are coach s being run but prefare train for long journeys.

Re: If Anyone is travelling by Train from London to Stevenage on Sunday

Looks like Manchester is as far North as you can get... You should make the 21:51 train from Euston due at Piccadilly for 00:53 but I didn't realise how poor night services in Manchester are. You would have thought could at least have got to Bury and then maybe got a cab from there but there is nothing heading North fromManchester at that time.
