Oh well.. thats that chapter finished..on with the story, and first thing I must do now is get my donation organised..It may well be 'wasted', but unless I give it ago and try to help to save STANLEY, then I won't have a team to visit when I get over.

Stunned and bewildered.

Think the directors need to start explaining pretty sharpish just how they're going to secure the future of our club.

Re: Ilyas pulls out

It was once said of Jeremy Thorpe that he tried hard to lead the Liberal Party from comparative obscurity to complete oblivion. I hope that we do not have a similar leadership scenario facing us at ASFC.

Do you think we will get any answers easily from the board?

Emergency open meeting may be helpful?

A peaceful protest at the club?

I am toying with the idea of chaining myself to the doors at ASFC but im not sure that will get anwers or me arrested, not sure a arrest would be helpful to the cause

UNITED WE STAND DEVIDED WE FALL

I do not want to have say the dreaded words to my daughter so i will stand and know many more will also stand,we need a leader for the fans, dont think im the right person to do this, far too hot headed to do that but im sure there is someone who will

I would just say that now it is in the hands of us, the die hard few!

Support everything that has been organised so far, I know its hard in the current economic climate but the more we have at the hearing, the more chance we have of being given a reprieve....

Its up to us & the compassion of the tax man i am afraid!

Re: Ilyas pulls out

if someone out there can provide the ammunition there will be no shortage of volunteers to lead the troops.

ASSF are meeting tonight to discuss what options we have left and where that will take us. By midnight there may be no ASSF, or by midnight we may be able to provide a rare chink of sunlight - I hope its the latter.

I will post more on this tonight

More_info_here.

ILYAS Khan has permanently withdrawn all financial offers of support to Accrington Stanley – and Peter Marsden has resigned as vice chairman – following an emergency board meeting after Saturday’s game at Chesterfield

Re: Ilyas pulls out

Somebody needs to tell us just what the hell is going on down there at the Crown. This level of negative publicity is only serving to cast an even deeper shadow over the clubs future. Two very major players have either resigned or walked away both where in the eyes of many the last hope of salvation should the club fail to extract us for this debt.

If you have got this wrong Mr. O’Neil you will have to live with the sigma of killing the hopes and dreams of a Towns people even if they don’t attend the ground, and even if you succeed following this Google Page Ranking shambles you are very unlikely to be held as any kind of saviour or hero; you’ll be lucky to get served in Asda the way your conducting yourself.

I challenge you now to make a clear and concise statement of the clubs financial position; what needs to be done to avoid winding up (not just the SOS fund) it was said that Mr. Marsden was the main contributor behind the club contribution, is this still the case are have you cast us further away from success.

Mr. Khan even if the board of Accrington Stanley disagrees with the need for your financial involvement it is clear to most of us with a brain that it as always been desirable if not imperative; it would have taken far more than the likes of Mr. O’Neil to extinguish the flame that you yourself said burned within you for your Town and your Club.

Re: Ilyas pulls out

As I type this, I see that there are 33 guests curently viewing this thread. I would imagine that some of these guests have strong media connections. So I suggest that they stop reading and get to the Crown Ground to start asking serious questions. Don't accept bland statements.

Ask the Chief Executive why he has not resigned if he empathises with the Vice Chairman over the latter's resignation.

Ask the male Co-Chairperson how he proposes (a) to raise the money needed immediately to pay HMRC, and (b) to secure the medium- and long-term future of the club.

Ask the female Co-Chairperson what she has done over the last month to help the SOS fund and what her contribution to the cause will be in the next two weeks.

But Saturday’s meeting, which did not involve joint chairman Dave O’Neill because he was not at the game, brought things to a head.
I take it that Mr. O'Neil is not the only Thorn in Stanley's Crown. Are all these individuals going to dig deep themselves? Perhaps it time they stopped hiding in the shadows and tell us just what they intend to do now...

Who is the Board of Accrington Stanley, will somebody please enlighten us.

From the 'LT'

I have resigned because I have just got so disillusioned with the in-fighting. There are a lot of stubborn people at the club. There are a lot of strong characters involved and that’s not necessarily a good thing at the moment.

Makes one wonder just what these 'strong' characters have said to, about, or disclosed concerning the one who by his words and actions displayed such affection for, and concern towards the survival of 'The Reds'...must have been something extremely evil or soul-destroying ...or both??.
If this was the case, then Ilyas Khan deserves so much better.

p.s. By their individual and joint behaviour, it is extremely difficult to imagine that there are any 'strong' characters existing at the Club...if there are then they are demonstrating this in a very odd and negative fashion!!

Where to now ???

Thoroughly dismayed by all this. Why does ASFC always shoot itself in the foot?
