Cart On Stanley !
Chorus
Cart On, Stanley Cart On, There will only ever be One
Accrington Stanley Cart On, Stanley Cart On. (x2)

If the tannoy man can REALLY turn it up on the Clayton End, we'll get that going, no problem. By really turn it up, I mean full bloody blast, can never hear it behind the goals.

I did read your post Diesel but sorry I still don't get it, maybe it's my age but in my opinion (and thats what its all about - right?) the other version by Andy Williams is much better

I've no problem with your opinion, don't get me wrong. But what I'm saying, is people are slating it for the god-awful singing, when that is the Bands aim.
It's supposed to be a pub anthem, something you sing when drunk. Just like Hurry Up harry was, by Sham 69.
We'd have a much easier time getting an 'anthem' going on the terraces, rather than a 'crooner' version.
At the end of the day, the idea isn't for people to listen, it's for 'em to sing along, and try to make the FES a little more intimidating for opposition. Lets face it, Andy Williams is about as intimidating as Frank Spencer.

Re: Impossible Dream
Fair enough - I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one. Andy Williams may not be intimidating but to me neither is the Joe Pasquale/Kermit sound alike

Re: Impossible Dream
I'll get more accepting when Celtic Cross make it a public share for the enthuiasts....as Joni Mitchell once wrote " ..and played real good for free.."

Re: Impossible Dream
Never seen all the words for Cart On Stanley before.
I love it, especially the last verse, hopefully bringing the whole town together.
Cart On Stanley is the new rock 'n' roll!

My friend took his daughter and nephew and where told to shut up as they where making too much noise, I ask you what is their problem. Maybe for one game some of the more vocal fans should go in the stand, could be interesting.

Depends on what sort of noise they were making. If they were chanting racist rhetoric and crying "Sieg Heil" in conjunction with goose-stepping up and down the stand, then I'm not surprised they were told to be quiet.

Nice one TM that made me smile, fair point.
They are 10 and 12 and where singing Stanley are back.

Do I detect a troubling trend here? Everyone who goes to the Stanley must do the same thing i.e. sing. Next thing you know we'll all be wearing blue uniforms and carrying a little red book.

Re: Impossible Dream
TM's right Main Stand dwellers ain't gonna want to sing, fair enough
I'd just like to see them react to what happens on the pitch sometimes. The bottom corner near the changing rooms never moved when Toddy skinned the full back. I watched them motionless
Watched the same at Aberdeen v Hibs & when that happened you saw life in the home support. Some raised fists, some shouts of "go on"
It really IMHO would make the place a harder place to get a result. I know JC has noticed it. A miss placed pass gets noise (groans) & a piece of skill gets nothing
However, they pay their money its up to them I suppose
