In light of todays developments

I was just wondering,given EW's position on the 'take over', what the future will hold for the 'Don' at ASFC.

If the whole thing was a sham to drum up prospective investors, then the question is, is David O Neil's position tennable?

I feel that it would be difficult,to say the least,for Him to stay.

Thoughts please.

the takeover was no sham despite suggestions to the contrary -it has however hit some kind of snag. What that is and what the answer is for the future I don't know, but what I do know is that the whole Stanley community now needs to stand shoulder to shoulder behind THE CLUB, not one man, not a board of directors, not behind the fantasy of a lottery win type investment.

The crest of Accrington is what we wear on our chests and that is embodied by our Stanley. Lets get ourselves out of the pig**** and then let the inquests begin as to how and why the club has got itself in a state. We're not the first and we're not the last club to fail to pay the taxman. What worries me is that if and when we agree some sort of repayment plan to the IR, how on earth can we pay that as well as existing month to month?

Every single one of the 900 remaining fans needs to somehow find it in themselves to dig even deeper at each match they attend. Don't have one extra pint - have six, enter the draws, buy a programme. How many of the 900 buy a shirt? how many buy a scarf?

Forget berating the non-attendee's for not putting their money in ..... we have to start putting in as much as we can starting now.

When we come out of the other side no doubt we'll all sigh a huge sigh of relief and then go back to worrying about the reds for 90 minutes a week. This will result in it all happening again. We need to start realising, and acting upon, that the club is in dire need of massive effort. The downside is that 56% of the club seems intent on not listening to what the fans want or expect. It changes now.

Macca, I wholeheartedly agree with you,and I wasnt trying to aportion blame or upset the apple cart anymore than it is at the moment.

I think the real answer lies in your last sentence, the 56% MUST now listen to what the fans are saying,and accept ALL offers of help from whomever they come from.

ASFC is bigger than one Man,although,granted,it is up to one Man to start to sort this mess out,and imho it is now time to swallow what little pride there is left and accept the help on offer.

Right i need to get thinking of some ideas then!

That actually sounds like a superb idea. Same thing we did to Rochdale but to Bury! And then the money from the game aswell as the bucket collecting should be a winner!!!! Superb!

Its also good that clubs like Bury actually want to help and return the favour!

I deleted my post before (above) and thought i had copied it to repaste but found i didnt.
But i more or less said that supporters off Accrington Stanley like me might not have money in the pocket at this moment in time to pledge big money like £100 but instead of just sitting in the background we could do a sponsored walk or an event etc to raise money! Anything to raise money towards the club would be great and at these financial times where alot of people are jobless this is another thing we could do to raise the funds!

Anyone else got ideas?

Not too sure about the 6 extra pints though

The one thing you have pointed out there is the scarve's thing, would love to see everybody in the Stanley parts of the ground waving their Stanley scarf at next season's first home game

its a shame we can have a pre season tornament with blackburn, burnley and poss preston, bury or rochdale. everyone gains a little something out of it, us and other lower league club with money the big 2 get to have a look at the up and coming players and its a local thing for bragging rights so everyone gains
