Hopefully, the attractive, winning football we're playing will prevent us from ending up with the lowest average attendances at the end of the season!

But that is just the point WH! The football is the best we have seen in years - consistently - He, has gone - a some folk blame him for not turning up - It ain't overly priced, but Darlo, Alex, plus Cup games against Bury Etc. that combined with fans coming from other Teams - some just for the experience and some just to entertain us - "If you don't bounce....." What would our average be if it had not been for all of this???

Maybe, it's just taking 'em a while, after years of apathy. If, however, we don't pick up any extra fans this season, to my way of thinking, it'll prove that Accringtonians really are indifferent to their football club. However, it's early days yet...

There is every chance that this can become reality within the next few years so long as they keep on the way they are at present, there is a very positive attitude from the Team with a good finish at the end of last year, as long as they start off 2010 in the same vein (once the snows finished) the could have a good placing at the seasons end, and there is still the chance of Cup football.

Re: Increasing Crowds??
Two points to make. Firstly on the commercial side of things, the club has definitely taken a positive step in the right direction with the reappointment of Lew. Secondly, yes we have had a few large gates and our average is up, yet how many of the other teams supporters have said they will come back when their own team is playing away. Certainly quite a few Bury fans and we may have also picked up the odd PNE and Blackpool fan as well. What we need to do is make sure that we get the Accrington based football fans wanting to come to the Crown. Better facilities, yes they are needed, pitch upgrade (levelling out and better drainage) also needed, but we have the right man at the helm and the winds of change are approaching. I have seen the best football played by a Stanley team this season for a long while. We may even have the opportunity to get promotion (be it by the playoffs or automatically, either way is not out of the question). So lets shout it out loud and proud about Stanley. We are, after all, the third East Lancashire team in the football league, and long may we do so.
