If it is a done deal that gary roberts is to be moved on by The Reds, then the best price needs to be extracted from whichever club he eventually gets sold to.

So what we have an opinion and my opinion is that if our chairman Eric has sold Gary Roberts for only £200,000 then I see a man with a poor judgement on this transfer.

i heard on talk radio its going to be in the region of 450,000 grand thats what mr brazil would pay..

lets all just talk about what we know how to do, now what position did you play Kipax? goal? defender? forward? just so when you have an opinion on a player we will know that you won't just be telling how it should be done, you will be talking from an expert point of view.

just when exactly have i ever made comments on players like that??.. you will probably stop up all nigt searching for something you can missquote to prove me wrong.. but generally i dont bother other than opinions.. and according to you and bagpuss i am allowed one of them.. or am i not special like you ?

Let's look at the facts:
Roberts has virtually gone
We will not get a penny over £200,000
We need to get back to form, before we slip to far down the wrong end of the table

the legal side is that a player cannot be transferred during the open season other than during a 'window' therefore no deal of any sort can be in place other than a loan with maybe first option to Ipswich. Surely, gentlemans agreement or not, if he is on loan then he is our player and we can recall him at any point, he is also our player so we can negotiate any fee we like for him n'est pas?

But on the other hand Jim Magilton was quoted on the Ipswich site as saying that if he had waited til January then he would have cost a lot more.

I have no doubt that come January 3rd we will all be on here moaning that the club have accepted an undisclosed fee for him.

Good luck Gary, I hope the Premiership and Welsh caps beckon for ya and that we have a huge sell-on clause attached.

Ok then to save me searching and seeing as you never disagree or comment on things that you have never experienced or attempted what is your opinion on the Roberts transfer, should we ask money for him or just give him away, or seeing as Erics bought and sold players over a number of years (non-league) we should just not have any comment, in fact we should comment on nothing and accept what we are told, could be the reason there is no roof, because after watching Stanley for a number of years without one why do we need one now? Didn't we get promoted with out one? maybe the Fanzine should have a name change to "Eric Knows Best." oh and you will never be as special as me.

to be honest we (ipswich) have a very gd player on our hands who weve got 2 sign i hope a deal has allready been done cos if not we wont get him cos a club will put a higher offer in gary roberts is a credit to youre club i would like to wish accrington all the best for the future

Macca, legally can a permanent transfer be agreed by clubs now and signed but just not come into force until January or is that breaking the transfer regs?
