Here's the link: http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk...lp_stanley.php.
It looks like positive stuff from all sides ...and the differences have been ironed out. Let's hope it succeeds

Re: is this good news for stanley
So Peter Britcliffe has realised that to not be on Stanley's side is a vote loser. Also Eric must have finally paid what he owes to the council but some how I doubt it, must have done a deal. Peter Britcliffe if you read this just remember who actually owns the land where the FES is built.

Well, it seems good news to me and, I would imagine, most other Stanley fans, but you seem almost disappointed, Bagpuss. And what do you mean by this?

Are you suggesting that, because the council own the land, they should make life difficult for Stanley or have I misunderstood you?

No I don't think that you misunderstand what Sourpuss says . He always makes himself most clearly understood .

Re: is this good news for stanley
I think it,s pretty clear what,s meant. The land is owned by the PEOPLE of Accrington.

As I have already had one warning this week I will ignore your uneducated comment.

I did not need to respond because the sentence was aimed at Britcliffe but to put it simply so even clogger can understand. If the land where the FES is sold quite a bit of money will be raised, this money should be made available for Stanley to go towards building a new ground and not to go anywhere else. The land is council owned not Eric Whalleys or Peter Britcliffes land.

OK, thanks for the clarification, Bagpuss. Still somewhat puzzled, though. Are you concerned that HBC have designs on selling the ground and using the money for something else?
