Re: It's not clever to boo your team
Ive only ever booed them once, it was away at Port Vale about 2-3 years ago when we where 0-4 down after about 30 minutes and the players simply gave up.
I felt bad about it after, but that performance simply wasnt acceptable that day, surely it couldent have been that bad yesterday???
As we all know, avoiding relegation is ALWAYS the target for us, and im confident that JB WILL turn it round

Re: It's not clever to boo your team
It wasn't that bad, sure the first half was Hartlepools fair enough, But those that didn't go always seem to know better.

Re: It's not clever to boo your team
If you pay your money you can boo or cheer as much as you like in my humble opinion.
However the question of whether you CAN do something and whether you SHOULD is a different one altogether.
Me....I'm against it and always have been. I don't like it...but I respect peoples rights to do so if they wish.
People react in different ways and we are too small a club to make pariahs of other supporters. Leave the infighting to Deadwood and Turd Moor.

Re: It's not clever to boo your team
I have no doubt that everyone at the club is working their socks off to get our season on track. No result for hard work is dispiriting enough without listening to boos from people who obviously no nowt about football. Maybe the ticket money gives them the right BUT if used they forfeit the right to call themselves fans - plain and simple. I am very content with the structure and personel at Stanley and confident that James Beattie and co will turn results around but with limited support from those living in Accy it ain't going to happen at the click of the fingers. To those that boo I would say get real or get lost !

Its not about infighting, Have yeh not understood the thread title? A person that boos em on the pitch you may well respect em, I certainly do not, it will do nothing at all to boost a players confidence imho Thats not rocket science, like someone else said call em on here or in the pub if they been crap, that will not affect performance on the pitch, Booing may well do.so my view stays they are knobheads, but if a different opinion to yeh is infighting i despair.

Never said I respect them... quite the opposite. I said I respect they have the right to choose to do so if they wish, whilst adding I do not agree.

Re: It's not clever to boo your team
Sorry you cannot have your utopia at a football ground, a football ground is not a pace for episcopacy, to survive Stanley need all the fans they can get good loyal fans, the fans that express their feelings in a way that others don’t like, the players are professionals and rightly or wrongly have grown up with abuse from the touch-line from a young age this is water of a ducks back
the abuse of match officials and players is prevalent within the game,
the booing at matches has become a universal instrument for expressing
disapproval of an individual’s or a team’s performance,
would you really want to ban the fans that boo and have a reduced attendance, then you may as well turn the lights off,

Re: It's not clever to boo your team
I know what some people are referring to when they talk about the 'PC brigade'.
Was just giving you an opportunity to make it clear what you mean. But if you don't want to that's fine.

Re: It's not clever to boo your team
I am disgusted at some of the language used on this thread. Come on guys we have young supporters on here that shouldn't be exposed to some of the words being used.
For example I've just read a post which contained the word episcopacy, I've seen a couple of prevalents and I'm sure I spotted a contingent earlier.
I know things are difficult at the moment but lets have a bit of respect for our fellow members: 2, or at most 3 syllables and some mild swearing is all thats required.
