DISAGREE

£15 adult
or
£10 concession
for all games (except the cup if we get a big team)

that is more realistic

Re: James Beattie's last game in charge.

The only way to attract more fans is to start from scratch, going into primary schools!

We have a stadium capacity of 5000ish so why arnt we giving atleast 1000 free tickets to school kids in the area? Ok maybe only a couple of hundred of them may use the free ticket but if they bring a paying adult that wouldn't have come in the first place, what's the harm?

All it costs is abit of paper and get the Community Trust to hand them out when they're in the schools!

Re: James Beattie's last game in charge.

I do think one off match tickets would work better than season tickets,
you may get parents willing to go to the odd game, your asking a lot for them to commit to a season ticket.

With so many players offered two-year contracts, it seems to my simple mind that his appointment was a two-year plan - and a brave one too. As far as I know, there has been no doubt about him "sticking with the club". The rumours have come from elsewhere - and possibly his detractors. But ..... no-one could blame him if he did move on. With ASFC always having such poor attendances and thus struggling financially, he may wish to seek more security and better pay elsewhere.

Re: James Beattie's last game in charge.

He already has. Primary schools get visits from the club. Every primary school leaver was offered a free season ticket at the end of last year's summer term. Very, very few even bothered to take it up.
Don't constantly blame the club and it's hard-working employees for the lack of interest in Stanley amongst the good folk of Accrington. Better to spend your time reading the history of the club and realising it was, and probably ever will be thus.
Stanley has a core support of around 1,000 to 1,200 hardy souls who turn up for every game, whatever the club's form or the weather. If you're one them, god bless you. If you're not, do something about it if you can. Otherwise, just accept Stanley are never going to be anything other than what they are unless, as has been raised before, there's a secret Lottery winner out there.
To be honest, the fact that Stanley continue to defy all the odds of 'modern' footballing finances is one reason that I continue to follow them, and always will.

Thought the free season ticket offer was for secondary school leavers, wasn't it? Whatever, the take-up was 18, which says a lot about the attitude of the Accrington public.

The offer was made to Year 6 pupils at all Hyndburn schools i.e. those
moving on to high schools.

Forty two applied and received their season tickets.
Our hopes were higher.

Apologies, Sherry, got that wrong. Still think the response was pathetic and symptomatic of the apathy in the borough.

Re: James Beattie's last game in charge.

42 new fans are better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Small acorns...etc...do it again for this year's leavers, and again, and again. Eventually, the fan base may get up to 1,500, then 2,000 if it's matched with a team playing attractive, gutsy football.
