What type of player is he? And what position does he play? Is he out of contract?

I would describe him as a forward who runs the channels. Scored 6 in 28 for us and this included a great last minute winner at MK Dons where he ran from his own half. He signed a new contract last March until 2026 so not out of contract.

His contract was actually until the summer of 2025.....Morecambe had an option to extend it for another year after that..... Not sure how that works. Anyway if we are paying money to anyone...if it helps keep Morecambe in business I'm pleased.

I knew there was an option. I didn't know if it was 2 years and a year option or 1 year and a year option.

Signed his new deal in March when Brannan was still our manager.

Rumours about Derek falling out with him for bringing his dog to training !

Thanks for his efforts and good luck to the lad but, imho, he added nothing that Coyle, Martin, Woods (B), Henderson & Conneely can’t offer.

Whatever the various disappointments since, Colby Bishop has shown that you CAN make the transition from the National League North to the Football League - indeed in his case to League One and later the Championship with Portsmouth.

Welcome to Charlie Caton, hope he can get up to speed quickly and start showing what he’s got.

Re: January Window

The reaction to Chester's Twitter announcement of his departure is something to behold. Charlie Caton was clearly very highly rated and thought of there.
