John Miles

Did anybody else wonder what happened to Mr Miles?

According to the Telegraph, Fleetwood loaned him out to Blue Square North side Droylsden, and he's now been released.

He might have been better advised staying here, methinks...........

Bit late now!

Re: John Miles

it was all an attitude issue with john.
He thought he was better than league 2 and never motivated himself to prove it.

Re: John Miles

Bit harsh that smudge!,You lads watched him a lot more than me,but he was technically a very good player, just tended to go missing for periods in a game.
Wheither that was just fitness or attitude i dont know, but he could be a match winner when on his game.
When he went into the conference i was amazed,it just didnt make any sense for his style of football

Re: John Miles

Wouldn't say it was harsh at all. He played almost 100 games for us and had roughly 5 good 1's!

Re: John Miles

You cant argue he had good technique and vision , just didnt want to know when the opposition had the ball or when the tackles were flying in.
Reminds me of someone else !!!!

Re: John Miles

I always like Milesy he was certainly an enigma but on his day he had the tricks.

I seem to remember seeing him for Macc against us when I think he scored two as they beat us and I think he then played as a striker?

He did score two that day, but we won 3-2 - it was the game that secured our place for our second season in Div 2. Proccie got the winner at the Clayton End with a cross shot from somewhere outside the penalty area.

Possibly the best game that Miles played at Fortress Crown .............

The score was Stanley 3 Macc 2 last home game of the season in 2006/7 when both teams were fighting to stay in League 2. I was on the Clayton End just behind the goal he scored into on both occasions
