Unhappy John Ryden

RIP John Ryden who died on Friday following illness. He played 80 games for Stanley in the mid-50s before a £10,000 transfer to Spurs in 1955:

RIP John Ryden what a sad couple of days for old Stanley stalwarts, saw John many times in the 50s what a good centre half he turned out to be.

RIP John Ryden - (slightly) before my time, but I remember my old fella rated him highly.

Re: John Ryden

Very sad, saw him many times for Stanley and in my opinion the best defender ever to wear a Stanley shirt, a class player. R.I.P.
