Tin pot cup anyway, we'll concentrate on the league now, with a view of champions league in about 5 or 6 years.

Disappointing but inevitable im afraid.

Hopefully the club and Ray have learned a BIG lesson.

It's to be hoped so. The FA won't be pleased they have had to spend some time gathering evidence to find out somebody didn't tell the truth

The mind really does boggle, what a total carve up, things like this shouldn't happen at a professional football club, but its not the first time its happened at Stanley is it, but will it be the last, I'm not holding my breathe

But the problem is that Ray was unaware (the Liverpool FA secretary had not informed him - nor had the club he was playing for) so it is not technically Rays fault.
The club on the other hand cannot be held to blame for something they were unaware of, i.e. Ray being signed from Liverpool - not a local side in the Liverpool FA.
Apparently (according to Radio Lancs and Rob Heys in interview, the FA and FL both have some sympathy with the club, but the only penalty can now be financial).

Exactly what I'm wondering. We're out of the JPT and Ray's served his ban. Surely no further punishment is necessary?

Re: Johnstone's Paint Trophy

How can Ray not be aware. He was shown a red card and that means a ban. Simple as.

That part of the issue has already been discussed. It's time to move on and avoid castigating our own IMO.
