Lowest League Gate Ever ?
Are Stanley going to record the lowest football league gate in history? its bungee jumping down now to approx 700 home fans. Does anyone know what the record is? I think people who cannot be heard are voting with there feet. Coley needs to back up his threats and put them into action re scrapping the dead wood, he went and kept the dead wood and got rid of players worth paying to watch. And that is were some truths lie most of the players arnt worth spending 13 pence on watching never mind 13 pounds. Another thing teams being relegated to conference dont seem to be coming back up even with there x4 attendances to ours so what chance have we if we get relegated.
There are supporters who keep trying to build the club up but I still feel the club is very poorly run and very, very amateurish in its delivery of all aspects of a day out at football. The club seem to have given up on a real drive to get the public on for games. The observer and telegraph arnt pushing us either. Why is it also that both papers always state how many stanley have taken away when its poor following, yet when its Bury or Rochdale it dosent say and it never says how many away teams have brought to FES. One last point, last season 4,500 capacity and recorded gate against torquay, yet there end was effing empty they brought approx 350 max. WHAT A LAUGH IT REALLY IS
Born on cloud cuckoo land EW thinks.

Re: Lowest League Gate Ever ?
Surely if it's "bungee jumping down", it'll soon spring back up again?

We weren't exactly at the top of the Attendance tables when we strolled through the Conference a couple of seasons ago.

Re: Lowest League Gate Ever ?
Just to answer my own question we already feature in the top ten lowest recorded attendances in the football league although it was an away match.
1. 469 Thames v Luton Town (Div 3s, 6.12.1930)
2. 552 Gateshead v Doncaster (Div 3n, 26.3.1934)
3. 588 Rochdale v Cambridge Utd (Div 3, 5.2.1974)
4. 622 Gateshead v ACCRINGTON (Div3n, 26.3.1952)
5. 625 Scarborough v Wrexham (Div 4, 7.12.1990)
6. 630 Ashington v Walsall (Div 3 n, 4.4.1927)
7. 631 Chester City v Reading (Div 3, 5.3.1991)
8. 641 Durham City v Wrexham (Div 3n, 28.4.1928)
9. 644 Wigan Boro v Barrow (Div 3 n, 12.12.1926)
10. 680 Darlington V Tranmere (Div 3 n, 25.2.1933)
We are a bit off the record just yet. Theres time

This is football league not the non - league conference
we were averaging that season, truth be known double than was on yesterday 1200. Thats with some teams bringing one man and his dog.
People wont pay to watch average talentless pub players. Elliot and Roberts were major factors to that promotion, just as ronaldo will have been if united win premiership, just like Alan Shearer and Tim Flowers were when Rovers won the Premiership. I dont believe we would of been promoted without them two players. Our gates wernt exactly bottom of the attendances tables.

Re: Lowest League Gate Ever ?
I think we need to advertise pre match entertainment to increase the attendance for the next match. Say Coley and Darwenred1968 in the middle!

Re: Lowest League Gate Ever ?
now your talkin
I think we could do with a publicity whirlwind by signing a BIG name similar to what Burnley do when veteran England players are ready to hang there boots up Gascoinge, Wright, Waddle , Cole etc. It might get a couple of thousand extra on for the 8 weeks or so they appear

If they kipped on the pitch, we'd have a self clearing snow facility.

Re: Lowest League Gate Ever ?
Doncaster rovers v Barnet in 1998 only had 739 show up in a league 3(now div 2)match and look where Doncaster are now, they beat Leeds Utd in league one a few weeks back and had a crowd of over 10,000,Anything is possible.
