Luton Town aka Lord Harpenden's Big Day Out
Tickets bought for the big match tomorrow and the car boot loaded for the trip down south.
For Lord Harpenden - the black sheep of the family - it will be his first Accrington match. He's had to be persuaded that it will be worthy of his time. His memories of happy days jumping off the trig point on the top of the Coppice have been lost amongst decades of the things southern softies do: oxbridge, rugger, the city etc.
Anyway, he's refused permission for his (football playing) daughters to come with us - no doubt scared that once they hear the Ultras roar, and Matty Pearson crunches into a tackle they will be instantly smitten and demand season tickets. I shall be entering Harpenden Manor tonight with one goal in mind - that this farcical denial of young lady's rights are overturned.
Can't see much trouble seeing off Luton. With Boco running rings round them and Clark giving them nightmares it's going to be several goals to nowt!
Bring it on......

I know they're rather refined, don'cha know, in Harpenden but, really, his Lordship should get with the times. Sounds to me, your Didsburyness, like you'd be better off leaving the old duffer in his Hertfordshire pile and take the two lasses instead.

Re: Luton Town aka Lord Harpenden's Big Day Out
Judging by the sodden grounds and water gushing through the leaking gutters of Harpenden Manor I fear for the big match. Rain forecast all morning.

Safe trip to all those heading back up the M1, sounded like we got battered with Parrish being M.O.M .

The boss at work is grumpy...the better half is techy...the dogs are disobedient... microwave decides to go on strike.. A man can tolerate all that and take it in his stride...BUT STANLEY LOSEING....Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Re: Luton Town aka Lord Harpenden's Big Day Out
Oh well, not the greatest away day (apart from
The obvious thrill of meeting my idol, The Don).
Accy didn't play badly, but were edged out of it.
Beckles was just about my MOM. Boco had a quiet game.
We really missed the solid first choice back four and needed a bit more cutting edge.
Quite liked Kenilworth Road. It's weird, badly designed, but it had character.
A distinct lack of singing. Think the ultras were on holiday.
