With the way you harp on about how awful Cavanagh is, paraphrasing your posts into "labelling him as a liability" is fair. However the stick he's being given is not. I've seen good, solid performances from Cav this season. He's not a brilliant defender nor will I make him out to be, but to embellish his mistakes and make him out to be a liability is absurd.
Phil Edwards' poor defending allowed for Barnet's goal, not Bradford's - my mistake.

Please explain which goal was Phil Edwards' fault.
As I remember it Barnet's first goal came in the first minute when Adomah went past King and crossed the ball for O'Flynn to head into the net. Barnet's second goal came from a corner when Yakubu headed the ball out of Kenny Arthur's hands into the net (this at a time when Stanley were short of a defender after Rocky had been sent off)

Phil was shrugged off far too easily by the Barnet winger for the first goal.

Re: Luton Town Game Thread
Sorry Shaker, I didn't realise that you had been watching it on a little screen, I thought you had been to the game and seen it in real time. After Adomah went past Edwards he then went past King, he then put the ball into the area and O'Flynn scored, a lot went on after he went past Edwards. I, for one, wouldn't blame Edwards for that goal. Cav has been captain for six or seven seasons and I am yet to see him open his mouth and organise the team. Keep your eye on him next time he plays (hopefully not tonight) and you tell me if he is doing a Captain's job. Cav is supposed to be playing at right back yet he takes corners on the left wing, he goes gallivanting up field and never gets back to defend. Face it, Cav is never where he should be and Edwards has had to cover up for him too many times. Cav is past his best

For a start I had zero chance to get to Underhill as I am (a) skint and (b) 527 miles away from the said ground. So 'viewing it on a little screen' is the best way possible. Any road, it obviously worked out better than your first hand account as you are clearly mistaken. The video shows how the winger shrugs off Edwards and crosses the ball. There wasn't "a lot going on after he took on Edwards", nor was King taken on at all.

The faults you mention are completely to do with tactics implemented by the manager! Orders regarding staying forward or tracking back, corner taking duties? Cavanagh is a good player and far from past his best. I fear we may have to agree to disagree.

The season we won the Conference Cav only played 19 league games Mully was captain for the other 27 games. So far in Football League Cav has played 55 league games, Mully has been the captain for the other 49 games.

After the winger "shrugged off" Edwards he ran the ball up the by-line and went past King before crossing.

Is it Coley's tactics that Cav strolls back to defence after rampaging forward? I have seen nearly every game that Cav and Edwards have played for Stanley and in my opinion Edwards is the better defender. Anyway as you said let's agree to disagree and channel our energies into supporting Stanley and all the players.

Always cheerful Jason, well up to kick off time anyway, and sometimes I am cheerful after the final whistle. If Stanley win on Saturday it will be three in a row and I will be that cheerful that I will probably crack my face.
