Re: Macc Thread
Good game as Brucie would say
Stanley over the last month or two have clicked with great movement and pupose by switching the ball from back to front and side to side with real vigour and great passing movement that others sides are struggling to contain.
It's great to see and wonderfully pleasing on the eye reminiscent of our run of form during the second half of last season, I have to give great credit to the management & players alike as others have said it's hard to pick individuals as there have been commanding performances all over the pitch.
Great start to the New Year

Re: Macc Thread
Sounds like a great game and a few good performances, interested to here how Charlie did in Joyceys roll, as Imo,its his were he's best
Think playing 4-3-3 is proving to be a master stroke by coley, with Hughes pulling the strings .
I hope long stays, but if burnley want to develop his talent, then he should move up a division, and see how he performs.
Unfortunately for us,I think if would have no problems at all ,class player.

Re: Macc Thread
does Joyce slip straight back into the starting 11?? Good Question.
Awesome performance today. Bryan Hughes is a different class. 11 brilliant performances today. I've never seen a defense at Stanley so calm and assured. Dunbavin deserves alot of credit for this, how many times did he pass the ball safely, and giving the option everytime for the defender.
ON STANLEY ON.

Re: Macc Thread
Football19, I thought Charlie was superb today. He worked his socks off. closing the Maccs down at every opportunity and getting into dangerous positions deep in their territory. Along with Hughesy he brings real craft and creativity to our midfield, which for me, was the key difference between the 2 sides. Mind you, he looks so similar to Hughes from a distance that I could be crediting him unjustly! Only one negative for me today - what on earth has happened to the Clayton End? I've never known the Ultras to be so subdued, so much so it was just like an ordinary football ground, not the vibrant, bouncing end it used to be. In Jase's day there would have been non-stop singing for all of the last half hour to bring the boys home to a great victory. What a terrible injustice we suffered when he was sentenced - a punishment horribly out of all proportion to his so called crime. Disgusting.

Re: Macc Thread
Great result today, although not at our best mho,we scored at the right tmes,as macca were on top in the opening stages of the game and at the start of the second half, but we stuck to our task and grounded out a very good win in my book.more points than this time last year and we're becoming a vgood team and a hard one to beat, well done Redmen Coleys view on the game taken off the fishy site ASFC News Story > 4512 Maccas view Wraggs to Riches Message Board |

Dont think that Referee's Assistant on 't Main Stand side were a proper one though Cashy, perhaps a trainee ??....a bit of a ditherer when a decision was asked of him ..imho !!..
Agree with you about the Ref though !.

Re: Macc Thread
Just one thought for the Maccs who consider they were the better team - if you don't shoot you don't score. The reason being, we never let them get a sniff!

To be honest in first 45 i thought they were as good as us, our defence was superb this aft. fer me that made the difference maccs were dodgy, still they didn't make as many chances as stanley,so em saying they were better team is just excuse making.

Re: Macc Thread
It was good to see JC use his subs earlier in the game than waiting til just 5 mins left then bring subs on. I thought that a good move.
