man utd v accy;

A rumour has come to my attention that the lancs senior cup is to be played behind closed doors at the cliff,if this is fact i think it's a bummer.This was a match i was looking forward to,so to play it behind closed doors is a bummer,if it's true does anyone know who's bright idea it was.Can anyone confirm this and if so will there be a DVD of it to buy,will KP be there to take photo's.

Re: man utd v accy;

Ridiculous!!

No suitable venue could be found????

How is the cliff suitable? Is it not prone to freezing aswell??

What are the rules around the comp? Does the home team have to play within a certain distance of there town/city??

I'm sure there would be plenty of county league clubs willing to open there bar and pitch for the game, I know it not goin to be a masive crowd, but say 20 people buy 2pints each at £2.50 a pint then its a bit extra than they would have had?

Given that half the teams in the Lancashire Senior Cup aren't from Lancashire the rules must be very flexible.

The last time Burnley entered about 4 years ago they played the 1st round against Rochdale behind closed doors.

Re: man utd v accy;

I believe the game is being played tomorrow and is being played behind closed doors at The Cliff.
I can't see us playing the first team with a game on saturday so would expect it to be youth team that we send!!!

Re: man utd v accy;

were supposed to be playing some trailist from non-league and a few other places according to the LET today.

Mr Heys confirmed that Reds manager John Coleman would run the rule over several potential new signings in the Lancashire FA Senior Cup tie against Manchester United at The Cliff tomorrow afternoon.

He added: “John is still very keen to add to the squad and he’ll be assessing a few players from non-league and a few other players in tomorrow’s game and then take it from there.”

You have to play 5 1st team players at least. However they will be obsurcure ones who dont play reg. Mainly reserve players.
