Re: Mansfield - Fudge Me Sideways!!
Intoxicating win and what a Christmas present for the players, management and supporters, dead chuffed. A win against York on Boxing day will probably finish the bottle of scotch!!

Horrendous journey back from Mansfield in the stormy blustery weather, but I had a bloody big smile on my face all the way home.

Re: Mansfield - Fudge Me Sideways!!
I too am 'fudged sideways' Chimer...and what a pleasant feeling it is !!..
Like many others i gave in at 89 minutes and switched the Car radio off.....missed 'The League Show' last night thinking that a 2-1 defeat would not make for a good night's slumbers......woke up to some Radio Lancs announcer telling the 'Good News ' ...and I am well and truly fudged sideways !!...
Methinks that this will come as a welcome reviver to JB and his team for the Boxing Day Vendetta !!.....hope that the Fans ( and Extras !) will respond accordingly....
AND THE VERY BEST OF CHRISTMAS WISHES TO ALL !!

Having had time to reflect on yesterdays performance, can honestly say in watching football regular oer 60 yrs, i have never witnessed a better ending to a match by anyone. If yeh can recall a better un, would love to hear of it?

Well as someone has mentioned on this thread, Bratford v Stanley at the Crown a couple of seasons ago, I know, I left feeling utterly deflated. The of course there was the Man Utd Euro cup final against Bayern when Utd won in the final 2 minutes. Would rank up against yesterdays win by Stanley IMHO

Re: Mansfield - Fudge Me Sideways!!
The ending was astonishing and certainly made up for what we had to endure prior to that. Mansfield were awful - persistently booed by their fans and clearly at odds with each other. We just about matched them in many respects. Apart from Tom Aldred (though even he may think he could have done better with the first Mansfield goal) and Piero Mingoia (who was a constant source of danger throughout the afternoon), we offered little. The idea of playing James Gray as lone striker seemed to suggest that we had gone for a draw. But, as someone once wrote, "all's well that ends well".
If Middlesbrough proved that passion overcomes logic, Mansfield proved that passion also overcomes ability - and that's how we won. We had the passion, Mansfield didn't.
Well that's how I saw it anyway.

Re: Mansfield - Fudge Me Sideways!!
Absolutely fantastic result - shame I was under the stand in the loo when the winning goal went in!!!!
Up until then I thought we we were poor though (Naylor & Windass in particular) but what en ending - I was still laughing to myself in the car on the way home, only football can do that.
Agree with above posts best ending to a game I've ever witnessed well done to the lads and JB for his subs - would have been easy to swap like for like but was bold and Santa came early - WOW

Thats me point, what has been instilled into those lads is magic imho. it don't always come off, but witnessed it at Middlesbrough also, though did think we played better up yon.
