Re: Mansfield Game
We were well worth the draw and could have nicked all 3 points late on. Dunbavin was fantastic, not just the penaltys but he made some outstanding saves to keep us in the game as well. Couldn't tell that we didn't have a drum as the lads got a great noise from banging the back of the stand. An action packed game that had everything, well worth the high admission fee.

Re: Mansfield Game
Dunbavin was absolutely magic today and kept us in the game, in my opinion.
Pity we couldn't have got all three points right at the end and done a real smash & grab raid on 'em! Mangan certainly came close.
Quietest crowd I've ever come across (apart from the little group of chav wannabes just to the right of us). We outshouted 'em all the way through!
Onwards to Bury!

Lincoln? Other than the drum, they made little or no noise

Re: Mansfield Game
Didn't go to Lincoln, so I can't comment on 'em.

Lincoln seemed to be very pleasant quiet people, but Mansfield seemed to be very, very quiet people with a nasty and somewhat ignorant undertone, plus a VERY LOUD TANNOY when they scored.
I'll be going back to Lincoln, Mansfield don't think so.
Bury, first away win of season, no problem.

You should've been on Mansfield station with the trainee chavs after the match!
Still, top half of the table at last!

Re: Mansfield Game
The PA played crowd noise, at full volume after each goal because the Mansfield fans couldn't be trusted or aren't allowed to make any.
There were also quite a few home fans ejected from our right. (was this because they dared to cheer!)

One of their fans is actually running a poll on Stags messageboard to see if other cubs' stewards are as bad.
Best quote, " You would be doing well to find stewards as useless, inept and aggressive as ours".
There you go Accyred, an articulate Mansfield fan, saves us the bother.

Re: Mansfield Game
Had to laugh reading the club programme last night. They sell their own range of chavgear - ie "Extreme Hood MTFC Barmy Army".
It figures...

Bring perfume into the ground. My wife was asked this as they searched her bag.
Not sure whether they thought she would trigger a small explosion bringing the whole stadium down, or they just don't like people smelling nice.
I have to say I had my feet on the seats all through the game; I think it was only the ultras they told off. You should sit up straight & keep your arms folded as well. I also loved the way they lined up accross the edge of the pitch at half time ready to repell the crowds of hooligans from running onto the empty pitch and.... er.....
Despite that, cracking game. Thought Phil struggled a bit in the air, & again when they start running at us a lot of our midfielders don't seem in a rush to get goal side of the ball, which puts extra pressure on the defence.
What was going on between Dunbavin & AD in the warm up? seemed to be a lot of shouting & pointing as Ian kept punching instead of catching.

Well this is one of their songs
Quote:
Oh when I die, (oh when I die),
Don't bury me alone, (Don't bury me alone),
But lay my bones, (but lay my bones),
In Al-co-hol, (In Al-co-hol)
And on my chest, (and on my chest),
Lay a barrel of the best, (Lay a barrel of the best),
And tell my friends, (and tell my friends),
I've gone to rest, (I've gone to rest)

Maybe they have all gone to rest eh!
