Many Thanks Accrington Stanley

On behalf of Alsager FC and myself (John Brown) I would like to thank John Coleman and Jimmy Bell for bringing a team to play Alsager in my benefit game which has raised nearly £5000 for a local hospice who care for the terminally ill children in the area.

The game was a tribute match to Simon Pettinger who was a 17 year old boy who supported the club and lived near the ground. The attitude of your players in helping support the presentations before the game was first class.

I wish Coley, Belly, the players & the club every success this season in which I am sure you will do well. With no committments with football now I am looking forward to coming and supporting Coley & Belly in games in my area and have a trip back up to Stanley a ground I have not visited for many a year.

Many thanks again would be great if we met you in the first round of the cup!

John Brown

Re: Many Thanks Accrington Stanley

It was a good evening at a nice friendly club. From the moment we arrived it was nothing but welcoming and friendly. Would love to visit again in a more competative game such as a cup. Its a crying shame that more stanley fans couldn't make it.

Full array of pictures will be online later today for those that didn't get there.

Re: Many Thanks Accrington Stanley

As Kipax and the others have said, a very good evening at a very friendly club.

John Brown, himself, deserves a lot of credit for turning his benefit match into a game that benefited a local charity by a few thousand pounds.

The Bullets' fans' singing was well up to Ultras' standards!

I'm sure we'll be at Alsager again one day. I just hope that we have enough notice so that more of us can make it.
