Thumbs down Re: Marsden Trophey final

Lost 2-1 on the night, 3-1 on aggregate. 2 sent off. Would have stood a better chance if the supporters team had been playing.

Re: Marsden Trophey final

I only saw Morecambe score 2 goals tonight, but I did see Prendergast commit a terrible foul. A red card was too good for him.

Where did the extra goal come from Sweety ?

Tell you what though.. My arms are aching and I am ready for this pint I have in front of me.. the fans certainly did there bit with a non stop "red and white army" chant for over half an hour. It beat the one we did at Gateshead last season in my opinion... Losing 1-5 no one could quite figure us out up there.. But tonight it was ...well ... If we got the crowd going like that every game it would be summat..

Hold your head up high everyone who went... Top stuff

.

Re: Marsden Trophey final

It was either Dave Perkins or Shirley Temple. It was hard to tell from where I was stood.

Calcutt was sent off as well as Prendergast.

Perkins was sent off for Morecambe, but could have avoided that if he hadn't got involved in a brawl.

Re: Marsden Trophey final

Prendergast was outstanding

Man of the match by far for me What will his sending off cost us though??????

When we started red/white, blue/white ARMY chants we got two sent off ????? did we get the players going much??? It was great though the stewards in front of us were papping their pants

If we did that at home we would scare some visiting players

To me the lads looked absolutely knackered last night, the ref didn't help & how any Morecambe fans can call Rory a cheat when some of their lot were going down like Italians I don't know. Despite the result I really enjoyed the night - let's hope they can pick theirselves up for Thursday & get a result at Telford.

Re: Marsden Trophey final

At least we didn't get any more defenders sent off. We had to buy some more when that last happened.

Ah right I see. When Rory Prendergast performed GBH on Nick Rogan, it was Rogan who dived I see. In fact I remember once dive from Danny Carlton and that as it. There was a fantastic one from Mr Prendergast himself, who went down is if Mr Kipax had snipered him with his camera. He really earnt those J20 Passion Fruit drinks he left with.

I have been on here a few times and regularly find that you accuse the other side of diving. It sort of speaks for itself 15 sendings off this season, wouldn't you agree? Surely no coincidence or 15 coincidences?

Anyway, I do actually wish you good luck. Your fans were superb and were a credit to your club.

Re: Marsden Trophey final

My take on the first 2 sendings off were that they could have been avoided.

The referee, in my opinion, could have sorted out the trouble that was brewing before it blew up. Having said that, both Calcutt and Perkins had to go once it had erupted.

The Prendergast incident was ridiculous and soured the evening even further. No Stanley fan can defend his actions and blaming the referee isn't an option. If I was Eric I'd make him pay the next FA fine that must surely now be pending.
