Re: Match Report from the Priestfield end
Made me smile that read.
Went to the game yesterday and Acci did there homework on the Gills, with a simple game plan.
The centre backs had there lone centre forward sussed early on,our fullbacks stayed wide and more or less man marked there wide men.
They didnt have the runners from midfield as murphy and joyce blocked that area up,resulting in our keeper having a easier time than he should have had.
For what its worth heres how i thought the players did
Murdoch-gets better each game,solid
Mcintyre-shakey in first half, better going forward than defending imo
Long-Quality and class enough said
Hessey-steady and read the game well
Deano-solid,did his job well, goalline clearence, but should have scored ehen heading straight at keeper.
Murphy-nervous start but grew into the holding role, very effective
Joycy-normal game, always looking for the ball.
Proccy-tried hard, but i dont think hes an attacking midfielder,
fletcher-quiet game really, was obviuosly playing to instructions.
Linfield-same as fletcher,reluctant to take a risk.
Almond-couldnt get any change from there CBs,but loads of effort, hesitated on a few half chances he had
subs
Craney-class showed,enough said
moult- "nightmare",missed a sitter, switched off and conceeded pen, only a young lad and will learn, but why did he come on before craney??
A draw was a fair result, and would have taken it before the game,
ps there keeper was m o m,enough said
