Re: Match Report from the Priestfield end

Poor report. We matched you at almost all points, had much more of the possession, created more than you did and - with any trace of luck - would have won the game. Your goal came from a handball that you wouldn't have seen at the away end and the Linesman missed completely.

It was a really good game between two good sides; on their day, anyone can beat anyone else.

Why are we described as an "average" Accrington? If we are, what does that make you?

Div3 thanks for the report on the report.

Watch the highlights on (The Football League Show) and could not spot the hand ball who allegedly hand balled was it Barrett with the flick-on or Weston who appeared to turn neatly before putting the ball past Bavs

Re: Match Report from the Priestfield end

I can only assume that 'average' is taken from looking at the league table?

Not the worst match report I've ever read (and had an obvious Kent bias) but I can't agree that Gillingham were firmly on top in the first half. True they had more efforts than we did, but they were hitting balls at the target from all over. Once in a while they go in as worldy's but more often than not they miss ... and yesterday they missed. On balance of play I thought the one goal lead was harsh on Stanley. 2nd half I missed most of it whilst walking home with my frozen four year old but the noise from the crowd suggested a shift in balance and Dans commentary seemed to back that up. Top it all with 'backs to the wall' and 'siege' comments from the Gills forums and I've got to think they were lucky to get even a point.

Re: Match Report from the Priestfield end

Very average report, BTW the goalkeeper for Stanley is IAN Dunbavin not Andrew as reported. Obviously didn't buy a programme! Also if you look at the stats on the BBC for the game I think you will find that Stanley were on top for most of the game, definitely had more shots on target etc etc. I think 4 wins and 2 draws against top 6 sides tells its own story.
