Re: Match Thread FA Cup Round 1 v Bradford City
If last week was rock-bottom, today was top-notch.
There is only one word to describe Stanley's performance at Valley Parade - SUPERB!
If only we could play like that every week, we'd be top of league 1, never mind league 2. McConville had one of his best games. Romy re-payed Coley's faith in starting by scoring a superb goal & ran himself into the ground, giving his usual 101%. However, it's unfair to pick-out individuals as every jack-man of the team were outstanding.
Brilliant support from our fans who again out-sang the home crowd.
Some great craic on the train home with returning Palace fans boarding at Burnley, who are looking forward to drawing us in the 3rd round. Please God, let it be at Selhurst Park!
Never been so proud to be a Stanley fan.

Yes, Clark was outstanding.
We'll have to disagree re Terry. I'm no big fan of his but thought he was much improved.
Parish is ok but do you think he commands his area as much as he should? I'd like to see him coming out for crosses more. Some crucial stops today though and he's consistent with kicking and not spilling shots.
I thought Paddy had a decent game too.

Re: Match Thread FA Cup Round 1 v Bradford City
A final thought before falling into alcohol fuelled slumber.
Coleman got a lot of stick on here last weekend. Without wishing to carry on that debate, I did think around the 50-55 min period just how the hell Coleman had taken a club from the lower reaches of non-league to the point where we were handing out a footballing lesson to a cub 10x the size of ours. A hell of an achievement.

Coleman is God. Another unthinkable result delivered by the Messiah. What a day.

Re: Match Thread FA Cup Round 1 v Bradford City
My summary from reading 14 pages of match banter from the Bantams forum:
1. They unsurprisingly thought their team was very poor. They think McCall made too many changes to the side (although prior to the match I think they thought he'd picked a fairly strong side)
2. They thought Accy were the better team. Superior passing and movement
3. Boco got the most praise (they'd prefer him up front than any of their forward) followed by Gornell and Clark
4. They thought subbing Marshall off was a bad move
5. They wish Accy well and hope we have a good cup run

Re: Match Thread FA Cup Round 1 v Bradford City
talking to a couple of bradford fans going home on the bus and they more or less said the same. really impressed with boco and couldn,t believe he only gets a few mins. on the pitch in some games. they liked clarke and sean as well. they made 6 changes from last week but the ones that played are regular squad members. on a personal note we are good at having a go at players who underperform so lets give tribute to them when they do. sean had his best game since coming back. clarke and lacey had there best games for us and mr.boco deserves daily mirror headlines for his performance. as i,ve said a week is a long time in football and yesterday showed it.

Re: Match Thread FA Cup Round 1 v Bradford City
we got a similar response from Bradford Fans on the way back to the car, we also said we thought Marshall was their best player and could not understand that substitution. they agreed wi that and just said it musta been a change of tactics.

Re: Match Thread FA Cup Round 1 v Bradford City
How many fans did we take yesterday? Watching the just over 1 minute highlights(other teams got 5,6 even more minutes)on the BBC page i heard quite a bit of noise when Jordan Clarke's goal went in.
Rommy Boco's headed goal was a stunner! If that's been scored in that Chelsea Everton match they had on the tv last night they'd have been crowing about how good it was.
