Re: Match Thread V Barnet.....................
well, no discussion on the match whatsoever from anyone on here (all at the game?) and by the sounds of it the players didn't take part neither!
what a shame as every other result went for us today and we would have been sat in 6th now

Re: Match Thread V Barnet.....................
There was only one team of promotion contenders out there today and it wasn't Stanley on that showing. Barnet gave us a footballing lesson, completely outplaying us after our bright start. Whereas we increasingly lumped the ball in the air towards their 6'5" back four giants, they played with good pace, control and incisive movement while we looked like we were wearing ice skates instead of studded boots. If McCleod hadn't left his shooting boots at home it could easily have been a 5 goal thrashing. Apart from Lindfields effort in the first half I can't remember their goalie having to make a save. With quality footballers like Coid, Barnett, Bender and Craney on the bench we seemed to have shot ourselves in the foot, and although we immediately looked a bit more threatening after Charlie and Craney came on, it was too little, too late. I thought all our front three were poor today and Joyce and Procter struggled to make anything happen in midfield. A bad day at the office, and although we looked worryingly fragile at the back I would make Deano my MOM as he had to bail out his colleagues far too often.

Re: Match Thread V Barnet.....................
listened to the game on radio and seems that stanley were not at the game today something not remotely expected after recent performances and frankly totally dissapointed and dejected but hey it's Saturday just booked the hotel for Torquay away and gonna have a glass of wine and then a curry....there's always next week!

Re: Match Thread V Barnet.....................
Well I think the less said about today the better, Barnet had done their homework. No wonder Sanchez was at the Burton game, he knew our every move.
Make no mistake the referee had a poor game, but im taking nothing away from Barnet, the small lad (number 10) ran the game, his speed and passing was class, and scored a good goal. Thankfully for us Mcleod was poor, or it really could have been a cricket score.
Maybe the lads where abit complacent after smashing Burton, not so any more I dont think. Every one of them had a nightmare.
Postive's??? Honestly absolutely none for me today,,,,,,, Not said that in a while, Hopefully just a blip.

Re: Match Thread V Barnet.....................
Very poor showing from Stanley today, lacked any real-bite or threat going forward too much side to side stuff whilst also giving possession away far too easy instead of trying to get it down and pass it through the middle and create space for runners.
Credit though to the Bees as they had done their homework and broke everything up with relative ease whilst looking a threat every time they went forward and scored some good goals.
A great opportunity to break into the top seven today fluffed, hopefully just a blip and we will return to winning ways next Saturday, don't get me wrong I am well chuffed with where we are but after we have raised the bar so high with results & performances it is so disappointing to just not turn up
