Watch a lot of 21s football and there's not many lads that big !!
He must be 6-5 and hopefully brings something different to our squad.
Although lads may sign pro contracts, I don't class them as a pro footballer until they have played 50 first teams games, so he's still learning yet.
He looks like he's a bit of fight in him as well,so it will be interesting how he develops.

Re: Matt Crooks Signs
He's a good player, anyone who thinks the lad can't play doesn't understand football.
And yes, I know he is not a striker.

Now Ladies and Gentlemen,
I too was dissappointed with his previous stint upfront, but Mr Coleman already has a favourite scouse son playing in that role........ so let's
see where he plays him....he may look more at home in centre mdfield or somewhere in the back line....we haven't exactly looked impregnable at the back in recent games have we?
And as someone else said, he's one of ours now so....... KTF
Up the Stanley!

Davo, is it not possible to make a point without having to rubbish another poster's opinion?

Very rarely, it would appear.

Re: Matt Crooks Signs
The lad IS a centre back, and not a bad one to be fair, not sure if that's where the genius will play him but make no mistake that IS his position.

Re: Matt Crooks Signs
Now we've got Terry Gornell as the lone striker, I'm quite looking forward to seeing him play in his proper position.
He showed his build up play was actually quite good, just lacked the finishing touch, but if Coley does play him at at the back or in a defensive midfield position I think he will do well starting attacks!
Is Coley thinking more next season with Proc not getting any younger and personally I think Joyce will get a move in the summer?
Also with Aldred leaving it leaves us with Winnard, Atkinson and Conneely as CBs, Just hope it isn't at Winnards expense and he is shifted to LB/RB as in my opinion he is our best CB at the club!

To be honest, I never noticed that. I did notice that he had almost complete accuracy in finding touch (or an opponent) with his passing. As for him being a central defender, I cannot recall any player of his size being so totally inept at heading the ball. I do hope that I am proved wrong and that he turns out to be an asset.

Re: Matt Crooks Signs
I would go as far as saying he is the worst player ever to put on the red shirt.
But it's fine, coley is a messiah right!?

Re: Matt Crooks Signs
I would like to wish Matt Crooks well, i so him play in midfield at portsmouth away for a short while and he looked the part.
We have to give the lad chance and get behind him, what as gone as gone lets look forward.
He could turn out to be a bit of shred business.
