Re: michael welch

in both league 1 and 2 you need big squads.
welsh would be an ideal squad player.

Welch doesn't want to be a squad player.

Todays Lancashire Telegraph says Ventre has signed for Sligo in Ireland. You won't find the details in the sports section though.

Good luck to the lad although I can't help thinking he's better than Conference level. But at least he'll be playing regularly & it's near to home for him, to be honest I'm relieved the rumour that he was going to Morecambe hasn't materialised cos I wouldn't have liked him to be playing against us

Re: michael welch

Welchy seems to have settled well at Northwich as club captain and with a new contract. And they've a friendly at Clitheroe on 9th July, for those missing football and with nothing else to do. See http://www.northwichguardian.co.uk/s...=650&width=850 and http://www.northwichguardian.co.uk/s...=650&width=850

Re: michael welch

I'm delighted for him. He and Mark Roberts as two central defenders would seem to be a formidable pairing.

Re: michael welch

Hardly the best adjective for Robbo and Welchy Red ??... FORMIDABLE :-

1 : causing fear, dread, or apprehension ( NO!!) 2 : having qualities that discourage approach or attack.....( MAYBE ?) 3 : tending to inspire awe or wonder (Well?)..

I can't think of any at the moment which might describe this 'dream' pairing'.....
any ideas anyone ????

'WHAT ME WORRY ??'

Re: michael welch

My dictionary adds "difficult to defeat or overcome". I stand by my adjective - both strong tacklers and good in the air. I'm not sure that I would so far as to say a "dream" pairing but I think that they will complement each other and be a "strong" pairing in the Blue Square - especially if the Vics have a defensive coach!

Roberts & Welch have found their level. Neither are quick enough or good enough for the league.

I hope the lad does well with n.vics. He was a great defender and solid at that!
I will miss the chance to see more goals he had to offer. Hes scored really goods ones at n.vics , these are some i could find + the one he scored at stockport:

- (one of my favourites !)

(another cracker)

i , for one will miss the chance to see if he can produce any of these amazing goals next season in a stanley shirt!. Good Luck Welchy!
