Re: Middlesbrough FA Cup 4th rd Match Thread
thoroughly enjoyed the match,we were out classed but not by much, would not have believed we were playing a premier side at all. A decent ref too . Just wish we had played our subs a bit earlier but credit to the team, you did yourselves proud.

Re: Middlesbrough FA Cup 4th rd Match Thread
No need for any match 'post-mortem' here, others have already summed it up perfectly.
Just like to thank John Coleman & the whole team for a wonderful day out yesterday.
To be able to play three Premiership teams in one season has to be a massive tribute to our little club.
We might not have the biggest following in the EFL, but by God we have the most dedicated & passionate.
Our fans were fantastic yesterday, it was a privilege to be part of them.
A real pleasure to meet the Cashmeister himself, a true gent & Stanley legend!
Was also introduced to Harvey Rodgers mum at half time. She was so proud her son was playing for Stanley and a little nervous that he should not let the side down.
It was a pleasure to re-assure her that our fans already consider him to be a star and a real asset to our club.
Good luck to Boro & thanks for the hospitality. A great club with loyal fans and a fantastic stadium.

I have to agree with what everyone has said. Proud once again to be a Stanley fan.
I agree especially with Cashy. The contest between S.M. and Fabio was one of the great football mismatches of all time. Fabio almost destroyed us single-handed in the first half. Far too often the Don was left with two players to mark. The switch of full backs in the second half did help.
Cashy is especially right about the lack of running into space. I travelled back most of the way with a Boro fan. He was very impressed by Stanley but commented on the short passing game which he thought was ok in itself but rarely led to anything positive - because of the lack of someone running into space to receive the out ball.
Our man of the match was surely Rodak.

" Stanley's Sean Clare forced Dimitrios Konstantopoulos into a solid save in the first half, before McConville headed wide when unmarked on 83 minutes"....RR can you comment on this note from the BBC match report ?...Radio Tees were particularly scornful whenever SM was involved in the play !...unfair or not ?.
Seems like der wunderkind has his detractors wherever one looks !.

Re: Middlesbrough FA Cup 4th rd Match Thread
I wouldn't say any of our players were poor yesterday, yes some were better than others but in my opinion, for what it's worth, every man jack of them gave it everything they had & even if it wasn't enough to draw with or beat a premier league team in their own backyard, you can't ask for more than that.

They, the BBC Tees reporters, were not the best, and their puerile attempts at not so subtle humour relating to JC's holiday attire and the minimalistic services in The Dressing Rooms at the Crown Ground left much to be desired !. I always thought that those inhabiting the North East were a little bit short where use of sound English language was concerned, and yesterdays commentators did little to change my opinion!.
Still, being still laid low by this damn virus, their basic information relating to the game was better than nowt I suppose !.

If that's how they were reporting the match I wouldn't give much credence to their opinion on any of our players tbh

Maybe, but on reading Yonmon's description of their commentary I'd dare to say I knew more about what I was watching than they did

To be honest, I could not understand why he headed the ball. By the time he made contact, the ball was knee high!! I was expecting him to kick it.

Don't think he could reach it with his foot.

I thought head was the only choice also? If he had one it would have been a goal, pmsl
