Mirror: We needed to sign more than Miles!!!

"At the bottom of the table, the likes of Accrington Stanley, Bury, Barnet, Chester and Morecambe will be scrapping for their lives.
Stanley will fancy their chances after last season's spirited performances but after shipping 81 goals last time may need more than the addition of striker John Miles. "

It's from the Daily Mirror which says it all really. Idiots.

No mention of the likes of Macclesfield

I'm not saying it's accurate, but I am filled with trepidation going into this season. The leaky defence has not been mended and I can only see another long hard slog ahead.

As said,no mention of Macclesfield AND no mention of Dagenham.
Teletext on ITV is no better, they predict us to finish 22nd!!

I don't think we'll struggle and get embroiled in the relegation dogfight. (at moment i'm thinking a mid-table finish beckons)However the defensive positions continue to concern. If we sort that department out, with the attacking options we now have,we could quite easily put egg on a lot of faces!!

I am much more optimistic on this score. Roberts looks like a good partner for Rocky, who did well when teamed up with God. We now have an experienced keeper who looks to have given the defence a boost in confidence, and surely Graham Branch will stiffen the defence?
I think we could be in for a cracking season, although I get the impression that Accy public will take some persuading to rally round, notwithstanding the wonderful new roof. It seems very quiet on here compared with the messageboards of our rivals, with little or no analysis of what seems a powerful attacking squad to me. Admittedly we need a couple more defenders, but Coley knows this as much as anyone. It will be deeply satisfying to confound the many sneering pundits who are making us one of the favourites for a return to the Conference.

Time will tell! But I'm still confident of a top six finish! If we as fans can be positive and get behind the team, hopefully with the roof generate more noise make the FES a Fortress the rest will take care of itself. One more central defender especially one with league experience would be the final piece of the Jigsaw as Redraine as already said we now have an experienced Goalkeeper who looks confident and communicates with the defence and reads the game well this can only help boost confidence and shore things up at the back.

Empty vessels?

I think we just need the season to start, not long now.
