Re: Missed Out - Barry
Not yet we may not have. Chester have had a transfer embargo put on them for not paying the wages of some players for over 2 months! So transfer may not be allowed to happen by the Football League or F.A. or whoever. Story on BBC this morning.

Chester's website says...The statement in question on the PFA’s website regarding Chester read: “The PFA has provided financial assistance to the club for some time to assist in the payment of players’ wages.
“The majority of the players currently at the club have not received any payment for two months, or more.
“The PFA have, therefore, advised the Football League of the monies outstanding to the players, and the Football League has applied Regulation 46.1 and placed an embargo upon the transfer of any registration by the club until such times as the payments due to the current playing staff are made.”
Yet they also say....It is with delight that we can today announce the signing of 24 year old midfielder Anthony Barry from Yeovil Town.
Anthony has put pen to paper on a two year contract at the Deva stadium this morning and brings with him the experience of performing in League One for the Golvers.
I think they mean 'the Glovers'!...so what do we make of all this ???.
'What me worry?'...when I come accross a word I don't know (Golvers!)...I do!

Re: Missed Out - Barry
technically he hasn't 'transferred' as he was a free agent. Would this be outside of the embargo?

Re: Missed Out - Barry
if we had the wag budget of Chester would we have paid the players?
why would anyone want to sign for a club who hadn't been paying the wages?

Maybe it looked a better prospect than signing for us?

Maybe better to get a few players based on skill rather than spend money on their wives and girlfriends Macca

Re: Missed Out - Barry
We could try and sell 'Useless Eustace' as Ian Craney was called on here and sign both Anthony Barry and Darren Kempson and hopefully bank a few quid towards the Whinney Hill Stand building fund.
