Missed Targets - New Players...
Coley has told the observer he wanted to sign Andy Bishop from York and Stuart Drummond but missed out on them as they have moved onto other clubs (Bury and Shrewsbury respectively). They would have been 2 fantastic signings and it shows the quality of players we are looking to bring in.
He says he is hoping to sign a league one midfielder next week so hopefully he will be successful.
The situation regarding Rob Elliot is now "up in the air" as Charltons goalkeeping coach has left the club and Robs future is in the balance there. Coley is looking to speak to Robs agent next week and talk about his future.

Re: Missed Targets - New Players...
I'd heard the rumour about Bishop weeks ago, so I was a little surprised to hear he'd gone to Bury.

Re: Missed Targets - New Players...
If we are to compete in the transfer market we need to move fast but correctly.
Fast to beat off competition from other clubs.
Correctly to ensure the player will fit the bill and pass a medical, and we can afford his terms.
If we are to compete we need to act like a Football League club not a conference club, we are in the BIG time now.I am certain Coleys got plenty up his sleeve it's up to the board to back his judgement.
John Mullin would be a good start (Hint Hint)

Re: Missed Targets - New Players...
whilst watching the FA Trophy final Woking v Grays, I can't help wondering just how good Justin Richards would be with Todd and Roberts firing crosses for him, Mullers knocking balls on or down, and Ian Craney threading balls through the middle. This guy could seriously score 30 goals for us. I know he plays in the South but I wonder if he is midlands based at all?

Re: Missed Targets - New Players...
there was talk that burton were using some of their FA cup money to take him there.. I would really like to see Glan Poole and Aaron Mclean at Stanley..Poole has a wicked left foot and can play on both flanks and up front, Mcleans performance at accy spoke for itself, quality..

Re: Missed Targets - New Players...
A lot of these Conference strikers like Richards can't cut it in the League. You need to sign 3 or 4 League 2 players really.

Re: Missed Targets - New Players...
On the question of Andy Todd, as he been offered a deal at Stanley or are Burton looking to sell to somebodxy else? Not heard a peep - or missed it (more than likely)

Re: Missed Targets - New Players...
Conference site says Michael Welch and Leam Richardson are stalling on signing contracts. Does this mean we'll need to sign a couple of defenders?

Andy Todd is out of contract at burton now.
And like it said on the official site, ALL out of contract players except Alcock and Jaggers have been offered new deals
Regarding Welch and Richardson, i don't think these 2 will sign. Maybe just Welchy but no chance of both of them signing, they have had offers elsewhere which are more likely to be better than ours.

Probobly not
Rumour has it, he went to watch Hereford play the week after we drew 2-2 with them at there place
I first thought it would be Stansfield, but he has ben linked wit Exeter, so it could be Tamika or Ipoua
I wouldn't mind seeing either of them at Accy next season, just a problem about where they are based
Also, is it true that Twiss is out of contract this summer ?
